Wait For It

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

An eerie silence cloaked the political landscape this lovely fall weekend as the soldiers in this (so far) administrative civil war scrambled for position in the next round of skirmishes. Rep. Adam Schiff fell back on the preposterous idea that he might not produce his “whistleblower” witness at all in the (so far) hypothetical impeachment proceeding. He put that one out after running a similarly absurd idea up the flagpole: that his “whistleblower” might just testify by answering written questions. I was waiting for him to offer up testimony by Morse code, carrier pigeon, or smoke signals.

Of course, the effort to “protect” the “whistleblower” has been a juke all along. For one thing, he-she-it is not a “whistleblower” at all; was only labeled that via legalistic legerdemain to avoid revealing the origin of this affair as a CIA cover-your-ass operation. Did Mr. Schiff actually think he could conceal this figure’s identity in a senate impeachment trial, when it came to that — for what else is impeachment aimed at? Anonymous sources are not admissible under American due process of law. Mr. Schiff must have missed that class in law school.

All of this hocus-pocus suggests to me that there is no “whistleblower,” that it is a phantom confabulation of gossip threads that unraveled the moment Mr. Trump released the transcript of his phone call to Ukraine’s president Zelensky, aborting Mr. Schiff’s game plan. The ensuing weeks of congressional Keystone Kops buffoonery since then appears to conceal a futile effort by Mr. Schiff and his confederates to find some fall guy willing to pretend that he-she-it is the “whistleblower.” He might as well ask for a volunteer to gargle with Gillette Blue Blades on NBC’s Meet the Press.

One marvels at Rep. Schiff’s tactical idiocy. But just imagine the panicked consternation it must be triggering among his Democratic colleagues. Notice that Mrs. Pelosi has been hiding out during this latest phase of the action. She may sense that there is nothing left to do but allow Mr. Schiff to twist slowly slowly in the wind, as he has hung himself out to dry. She should have known better since every previous declaration of conclusive evidence by Mr. Schiff over the past three years has proved to be false, knowingly and mendaciously so.

One also clearly senses that all the smoke-and-mirrors are a desperate attempt to divert attention from a soon-to-drop DOJ Inspector General’s report which, by the way, will only be an overture to much more damaging action likely to come from Mr. Barr’s proceeding. After all, IG Horowitz was not allowed under the rules to compel the testimony of persons outside the Department of Justice, which would now include Andrew McCabe, James Comey, and many others at the center of the RussiaGate prank.

That also includes the probable chief pranksters, former CIA head John Brennan and James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence, the midwives of RussiaGate. The pair have been running around on cable news with both their hair and their pants on fire in recent weeks. Back in March, before the Mueller Report flopped, and when Mr. Barr was commissioned to look into all the RussiaGate shenanigans, Mr. Brennan comically claimed that he “received bad information and suspected there was more than there actually was.”

That lame admission will not avail to protect him or the CIA, an agency that is behind the administrative civil war. It has been a rogue agency for a long long time, but may have finally overplayed its hand, along with the newer adjunct agencies that have been stitched onto it since 9/11/01 — the dark network that goes by the name Intelligence Community. So many shoes are ready to drop on them that the din might drown out all the John Philip Sousa marches ever played in the lobby at Langley, let alone the thin trilling of a fake whistleblower.

Apart from these fateful developments the prize for the week’s most transparently disingenuous bit of media agitprop goes to Saturday’s New York Times puff piece on former FBI Director Jim Comey, which actually sets him up for federal indictment on something like sedition or treason. Get a load of this:

James Comey plans to spend the next 13 months working to drive President Trump from power.

Did you notice that the photo-caption states: James Comey plans to spend the next 13 months working to drive President Trump from power. Oh, really? By what means, exactly? Single-handedly or with whom? And how did the strategy he kicked off in 2016 work out? In case Mr. Barr is looking for some way to attribute motive to the actions that he’s investigating, he may need to seek no further. Also, consider that The New York Times and its editor-in-chief Dean Baquet, and publisher A.G. Sulzberger may be named as unindicted co-conspirators in the three-year campaign of sedition (freedom of the press, of course). Alert the shareholders.

If you look up the meaning of the word confederate, it appears to be a justifiable use of the word.

CONFEDERATE
ADJECTIVE
1. joined by an agreement or treaty.

NOUN
1. a person one works with, especially in something secret or illegal; an accomplice.

VERB
1. bring (states or groups of people) into an alliance.

I would very much like to subscribe to Kunstler’s optimism that barr et al will take care of business with brennan, clapper, et al. However, I have seen this kabuki theater go on and on with the “able” assistance of that institution which is know as the press.

I remain skeptical but hope springs eternal that these treasonous bastards will get their due.

Horowitz has already shown his propensity to protect the swamp dwellers and I expect more of the same when his long awaited report drops. Rumors say the report will drop this Friday, but we have been hearing that longer than Wimpy promised to pay “Tuesday for a hamburger today”.

As far as the rest of the co-conspirators ever paying a price, I suspect there will be one or two sacrificial lambs and the true depth of the conspiracy will never come to light. If they really want to get to the bottom of it, offer Clapper & Lisa Page deals. I think both will sing the full tune, if they do not commit Arkancide before they get to testify.

Yes, as in “Hell hath no fury…”

Clapper is giving all the signals of wanting to sing and knows about the intel side. Page knows about the DoJ side, so between the two of them they should get a complete picture.

Throw her in jail for a month or two and don’t let her kids visit; after about 2 days she will be singing like a canary.

amen,
i was thinking much the same thing–
“it’s like this lisa, you & your kids go into protective custody 4 a year or so until all your truthful testimony is finished & then you’ll never have to worry about being prosecuted again,or we can charge you & put you on trial with the others. upon conviction, you’ll be sentenced from 20-life,which means you’ll never see your kids outside of a prison again. think about it.”

For those who may not be aware, there are two very distinct branches of “Intelligence”.

One, which can be referred to as “Agency Intelligence”, made up of the CIA, FBI, DNI, are politically motivated organizations that ran all of the most disgusting OPS you’ve read about on conspiracy theory blogs etc. (think MKUltra et.al). That branch was created shortly after WWII and employed a ton of the German Nazi party apparatchiks ‘liberated’ from Germany during the final days of the war.

The other, grown out of the Signals Intelligence arm of the US Military, may be termed generically as Military Intelligence or MI.

There has been a cold war between these two arms since the waning days of WWII, really kicking off in earnest near the end of the Korean War and into Vietnam. What you currently see going on in DC is that cold war turning warm, and I pray it never turns hot as I believe that a coup of some sort would be the result.

I have a suspicion that Trump was encouraged, either directly or indirectly, by the MI team to make a presidential run. There’s no way Trump is going solo in DC and winning like he is. He’s getting info and backing from somewhere, and that somewhere has a ton of “dirt” and “leverage”. While I have no direct knowledge, I have had enough interaction with the ‘5 sided building’ to understand how things flow at that level.

Trust me. Things are going to get worse before they get better. It appears hands are being forced, and folding is not an option.

Very good post. For infantrymen’s sake, I’ll sum it up: NSA = generally good, CIA = generally bad.

If I were Caesar, I would have placed Flynn at the helm of NSA and DIA yesterday, and squashed the CIA and FBI like the parasitic ticks they are.

To CONUS upper management: “You are being arrested for high crimes. If you are found innocent in a neutral court of law, you are free. If you are found guilty, you are to be Ceaușescu-ed with haste. No appeals.”

To OCONUS upper management: “Report to CONUS immediately. If you do not, your family will be tried for aiding and abetting your high crimes.”

To everyone else: “Your services are no longer necessary. You are hereby pardoned. If you wish to re-apply with another agency, be prepared for the full scope poly and anal probe of the ages. If you violate these terms of service, see comment to upper management above. Thanks for playing.”

There is no compromise. Justice must be both fair and swift so that the nation can heal, and so that we can fix the likely 40% hit on GDP from the fallout.

EDIT: Just got to thinking…I’ve been suspicious of Snowden for quite some time now. I don’t have all of the details on him, but what I *have* seen jaundices his motives in my view. I think he’s a raunchy traitor and a CIA plant to demoralize the NSA patriots. In fact, I think Manning actually has more cajones as a transtesticle than Snowden does as a RUNNER.

The Brave Sir Robin = Snowden.

It’s a shame that we don’t even have to resort to conspiracy theories or classified datapoints to paint the CIA with a broad brush. Several of their diabolical schemes are out there for all to see and read about.

But try explaining to Americans that the CIA/FBI are as fascist as every other totalitarian regime’s was (KGB, SSD/Stasi, Gestapo, etc.), and you’ll be labeled a nutbar. Facts, apparently, no longer matter.

We live in a carefully controlled cage and no one seems to notice or care.

Schiff is now saying they may not even need to hear from the “whistleblower.” The asshole then said that since they now have the actual transcript, testimony is unnecessary! Long way to say we f’d up and got caught red handed with our bullshit.
Orange Man now says, oh yes we do need to hear from the whistleblower. We need to know who lied to him and tried to convince him to then spread those lies. Trump is hoping to now use this to expose the rats in the granary.
I see somebody did a photoshop video of Trump’s head on somebody killing Democrat celebs. Complete outrage for two minutes on the commie cable channels. Then of course some evil conservative pointed out that Trump probably didn’t make and post it, so……………………another Monday in these interesting times.

The whole point of Comey being such a douchenozzle ALL the time could be just to get the American Public used to the “Intelligence Community” out in the open as political activists. Stasi was no secret, it was an open part of everyone’s lives, like a Taliban, setting the rules of conduct and serving as judge, and executioner too. Making sure society progressed the way it was supposed to. Rather than deal with the tedium and logistics of arranging a bunch of shit to all go down in proper sequence on some Grassy Knoll, the spooks can just openly work to drive someone from power bloodlessly.
Another big perceptual barrier-breaker was Snowden. In hindsight wasn’t that all just so much drama? What has changed since he brought mass surveillance into the open? Nothing except except he rearranged our heads, we all now know that we’re all spyed on and archived every minute. And we’re actually spyed on more since he broke the news, not less. Completely normalized. Maybe that was Ed’s job, to bring it out make it easier for the spooks that way. And now that barrier is down, we accept and PAY FOR surveillance like Alexa in our homes, doorbells, cars etc. Snowden tells us the panopticon is here, the reaction is “oh, okay” RIP 4th amendment, and now we all carry on.
So Comey breaks the fourth wall in a sense too, he volunteers to act like a nincompoop on the regular, takes some heat for it, but he’s “doing it for the greater good”, he finds it pretty fun (could he smile with more glee? doubtful) and now we all know the spooks stir the political pot at will. Another new normal.
So whether he succeeds or not may not be the point. Maybe the point is that he’s declaring this is and has been his goal, while giving zero fucks about how stuff is supposed to be done in America.
If pampered guys like this are going to off our presidents, they should at the very least have to go through the challenges of pulling off a Grassy Knoll. If he does succeed it will be the second Prez in my own lifetime. That’s way too many.

If trump released the transcripts does that not make every single person in the world who listened to it a “democratic whistleblower”? Next question would be how is it “whistleblowing” if it is public info? The fuckers are as stupid as 22 winmag. Oh sorry i meant these Hillary supporting, losers shills. My bad.
