It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. God is trying to tell Californians something important.

Actually, I think it’s China trying to tell California something, with a wink and a nod from Tel Aviv and Moscow.

I think you’re talking about the largest refinery in our country… The one in Texas…

I’m glad YOU think this is funny… Remind me when a hurricane, blizzard, or tornado rips YOUR world apart.

Tom, do not let Admin get under your skin. If he knows it bothers you, he will keep at it. The best response is: I will pray for you.

Nope; bloggers don’t get under my skin… Sometimes they sway over to the stupid side though, and need to be schooled…

Thing is, California has the same problem year after year after year and still keeps voting in the same people who do nothing about it while it keeps getting worse and worse.

In all seriousness, was it like this 50 or 100 years ago? Did 1/4 of the state catch on fire every year? I have no idea.

No. There’s lots of early photographic evidence that underbrush was much lighter in many areas because the natural cycle of fire and regrowth kept it more sparse.
Years of drought have brought pests like bark beetles to weaken and kill trees by the millions and instead of harvesting the wood environmental do-gooders like the Sierra Club pitch a fit and block those efforts.
It all adds to the fuel load and the yearly Santa Ana winds (SoCal) and Diablo Winds (NorCal) really spread the embers around once they get going.

That reminds me, I have an oil painting on canvas entitled “California Burning” in case anyone wants it.

Just got back from a quick side-trip to NH. Much nicer tree colors there. Nicer politics as well.

Both of our Senators and Congressfolk are progressive Democraps. Not the nicest politics. Tree colors were nice though.
