Damn… I just played this for my husband and a bald eagle flew over the yard. (that’s a joke, but it is a rousing tune.)

Edited. Have now listened and watched “Turn it Up” and while I really like the SONG and beat, the visuals of the pole dancers are lewd and rather tawdry.

EDITED: Seriously? Her ass is the preview of the video?

I envision some country folk around your parts resemble something close to these guys…my people. White, pissed off and mad about it.

My husband used to think they were scary looking around here. I took a photo of him all dressed up working in the barn and showed him that he looks like ONE of them.

There are a few people of color in the area, but they are families who have lived in the area long enough to just be part of the community. The Ortiz family has a big poultry operation (free range, clean and quaint for grandkids) and the Younts are intermarried with both Indian and Black families, giving them a Gypsy-like reputation (the locals will say “Oh, yeah, the Younts are good folks but the men don’t like to hold steady jobs.”)

Now, my kinfolks come from a ways up the road, toward Pilot Knob, where I launched the Coonskin Chronicles. They were Irish, descended from immigrants and willing to move out to these rocky hills and try to scrape out a living. They failed, which landed them on sharecropper land in the lowlands. I could show you pictures that would make you laugh…perhaps I will do so soon.

I decided to come back and show you what I’m talking about… this was sharecropper land in Southeast Missouri around 1930, during the Depression. This was the era my father documented with his first attempts to take and develop his own photos. As a poor kid PRIOR to Pearl Harbor. Kids now have no clue about the Mother of Invention. Her name is Desperation.

Yes, indeed it is. I would posit that these are the types of guys you want to clan up with if it all goes sideways.

The only royalty I ever got in bed with was a grand daughter of Honsi Mubarak, when he was still President of Egypt.

Billy grew up for a time in Wellesley,I lived next town over in Dover.I will say he was older then me and thus never met him but was a fixture to a degree in local music.I saw em with Def Leppard backing him up(Pyromania for Leppard tour),saw him solo with band at Orpheum and saw them back up Queen in the Garden, always a fan of Squier.

Not bad Donk ! Texas hippies are a different breed altogether.
Love that pic of your Pops Mags. There are still places and people in western Oklahoma that look just like that.
