I appreciate that Ron Paul honestly believes this, but yet he continues to support the idea that a way out of our current situation is to provide tax credits for medical expenses, insurance premiums, etc.
Much like the voucher discussion, these strings that tie us to government, inevitably still leave them in charge. There are currently HSAs that provide a tax-free savings plan to spend on medical expenses. The problem is that the GOVERNMENT gets to determine what qualifies. Vitamins, health club membership, or other “natural” ways of improving your health….NO. Vaccines, bigPharma pills, surgery, etc……YES.
Indeed, when we give the government the ability to make medical decisions for us, they own us…..but why doesn’t Ron understand that tax credits or similar schemes simply maintain a version of that ownership?
