79 – 56 + 40 = 63. I was born in 1964. FAIL. To be fair, I just turned 56 4 days ago, but the trick either works or it doesn’t.

Bet it’s within 364 days of everyone who cares to check. The trick can only go to the year not the month and day.

It works for everyone born between tomorrow and the end of the year, and not for anyone born today and earlier in the calendar. No matter what day of the calendar you do the calculation. If you do it on Dec31, 2020 it does not work for anyone. At that date you need to use 80 instead of 79.

What if I did the calculation on December 31, 2020 at 8am and I was born December 31 at 9am?

Does not work if you have already had your birthday this year. In your case, using your age before your birthday this year: 119-55=64. (Using 119 ‘cuz I ain’t gots $40).

Well 79+40 = 119
So this only worked correctly on 12/31/2019…

You’re supposed to subtract your age.

I don’t see where Mike subtracted his age.

I’m saying, if you moved your birfday within 364 days of the current year, the trick would work, no?

I don’t think I wrote that shit correctly either. Not within 364 days of the current year….in any 364 days of the current year at the beginning of the year, carry the 2 and leave out the past, which leaves out the last day of the year.

Feel punked yet?

Let me spell it out a little more clearly then:
119 – [your age in years] = X
2019 – [your year of birth] = X

So both lines give the same result (except your birthday is on a day between Jan 1st and today, because then it would need to be 120 in the first line)
…obviously!!!

Pick any number between 1 and 10 but don’t tell me what it is. This is your original number, don’t tell me what it is.
Now double it.
Now add 6.
Divide by two.
Take your original number and subtract it from the number you have now.
Your answer is 3.

Do I take one immediately, or wait a half hour? 2 hours or 2 1/2 hours depending on your answer.

A San Francisco street bum can make one cigar for every five butts he finds in the gutter. On a particularly good day, he finds 25 butts. How many cigars can he make?

It’s simpler this way, folks. If you haven’t had a birthday yet this year, take the number 2019 and subtract your age. The result is your birth year. If you have had a birthday this year, use the number 2020 instead of 2019. Weird, isn’t it ?
