he was the right place/right time kind of dumb luck, plus add a dose of “I invented that” Thomas Edison mentality, where you steal ideas and then fight in court until it is no longer relevant. Bill Gates “master stroke” was utilizing his lawyer daddy’s law firm to craft a tight “licensing agreement” which mandated tying the purchase of the software to hardware. One could not purchase a copy of DOS or Windows without buying a computer to go along with it. This one move assured Gates’ success. Gates WAS born with a “silver spoon” in his mouth.
