Every day seems like it gets harder and harder (for the last 5 years). Every day I thank God for giving me that day. Thanks HSF -it IS still a beautiful world. There is a lot of ‘disagreement’ in the comments below and I get that (believe me) but I have to hold on to something. When the time comes for me to darken this world by doing what must be done, I am resigned to do it… and I will. But for now I still hold that this is the day that the Lord has made… and I will attempt to do my best to rejoice and be glad in it.

WE, normal and white people of the United States have no political power. We have no voice in the direction this nation has been going, and we haven’t for decades now. The only bright spot I see is that more and more decent blacks are realizing they are being played and they are saying, “Enough!” How typical that the blacks have bullshit detectors so much more efficient than ours. Many years ago, I worked as a private contractor for a man with a large farm in a southern African country. It was a part of my job to stop and evict “squatters” on his farm. One day I brought in five people who had been living in on his land, killing his live stock, and trampling his crops. The farmer reminded them about why no one had lived there before his family settled the area by clearing out the flies. He asked them what he could do to help them all to live peacefully together and prosper. The leader of the squatters told him “point blank”, they would never let him and his family live in peace and they would kill them all if they did not leave. The farmer sat and thought about this for a moment; then raised his gun and shot all five of them. We were instructed to take the men’s bodies back to their tribal leaders and ask for there to be peace between them. This peace was never achieved because of the tribal members continued to squat on the farmer’s land. They laid claim to it, but only after someone else had made it habitable for men to use. A few years ago I learned he and his family had been killed.

HSF my legs are itching from just looking at that hay; having spent a good part of my childhood on a haystack.
My son and I just got back from scything the neighbors field. She’d come up to ask us if we’d mind taking it over since her father wasn’t up to it. As she was speaking she broke down into tears in front of us, heart wrenching sobs that she tried to hold in while the two of us stood there with our hands by our sides not knowing exactly what to do. After a bit she composed herself and explained that her mother had just died from cancer, alone in the hospital because they wouldn’t allow her family in due to concerns regarding covid. Her father was heartbroken, they’d been married for 63 years and he couldn’t even say goodbye to her or hold her hand as she passed.
We went over and spent the next few hours sweeping the blades across the dry grass, the constant swish, swish, swish of the chine against the stalks the only sound. We’d pause every so often to run the whetstone against peened edge, drink water from a plastic jug we’d stuck in the brook, and then start back at it. I could tell just from the set of my son’s shoulders where his thoughts were and mine were with him also. My Aunt had passed away under similar circumstances and equally alone two months ago because of the edicts of the expert class, those masked and credentialed bureaucrats with their pointless rules that inflicted far more damage than they prevented.
My socks were filled with bits of grass, seeds and fluff and my neck was crosshatched with dirty creases but we finished the job we’d promised we’d do. We loaded as much of the hay as we could and fed it out to the herd when we got home, but I can’t get the thought out of my mind, the almost inconceivable cruelty of the world we live in so tightly interwoven with the love and beauty that comes with it.
When I posted Desiderata early this morning I was trying to lighten the burden for the people I care with something hopeful and true and now, as the clouds are building to the west behind a massive front that brings rain there is a sense of sadness I cannot shake. I’m sorry for my neighbor and her father, even more so for her mother who had to depart this world alone, but more than that for everyone who has given up on the possibility of a better world in the offing. Maybe it was the act of reaping, the symbolism of the scythe on their ground in the aftermath of such a loss and the impact of all these months of… what exactly I can’t describe. I only know that you cannot give up, you pick up the tools at your disposal for as long as your hands can grab hold of them and you make whatever humble effort you can out of love and duty and the responsibility that comes with being aware of your role in this story.

and then go to bed expecting the inevitable deluge during the night…. kind of like the last 4 hay seasons. Sorry didn’t mean to be cynical. This made me think of my tobacco days starting at age 11. 12 hour days in the hot sun. The blisters on the hands became rock hard calluses by 2 weeks.

Nothing new under the sun here. Civilizations have risen, ripened, then rotted, and died just like the human body. I feel blessed that I lived in this civilization in it’s peak and was able to have many experiences that have made my life rich in knowledge and understanding of my purpose in this life. I am grateful to God for leading me through this experience.
Life is short and so it is important that we take advantage to get as much experience as possible. I pray for the young who have no interior sense of the direction of life. They are in space and compelled to move. Any direction might be wrong. The only direction in which they can move is that agreed upon by those around them. The confidence in sociological conventions, morals, and ideals are not there to guide them so there is only rebellion. Take a good look at the recent actions of the peaceful demonstrators. They are lost in the collective consciousness of following slogans not of their own but something out of Orwell’s 1984.
It seems that Bolshevik communism 2.0 is coming to america. McCarthy was right but not enough people listened and opened their eyes. It took 70 years to transfer from Russia to here. In the 1960s there was a saying going around that said one day america would be like the Soviet Union and the Soviet Union would transform into what america is. Looks like that saying is coming true.

My random thoughts on this whole racial bullshit MSM White-shaming, anti-American, Lucifer-endorsing cause-celebre dustup:
1. If anyone deserves to march on Capitol Hill and demand some reforms, it should be Native Americans, who were given nothing and had everything taken from them. This is in direct contrast to those marching for BLM, who take everything and give nothing in return (and then complain it’s not enough), because what little they do have has been given to them.
2. Blacks want reform? Start by reforming yourselves! When you stop calling yourselves niggers, then I will too.
3. Nancy Pelosi in a kente is like watching a Kathy Bates nude scene.
4. I am no longer entertaining the notion that only a few people are pulling the strings; I now believe whoever is making the puppets is the real Master.
