SUNDAY MORNING CLASSICS ON TBP

A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
nkit, Austrian Peter, and Steve C.

Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.

We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.

Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.

We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.

A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.

We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.

The creation of magic to have a little think about.
The certifiable Genius of all the composers many decades ago to write the scores. By hand with ink on paper.
Just imagine over the millennia, all the human effort and ingenuity to create this fabulous enjoyment for the world.

All the mining and smelting of the metals for the horns, requiring the the fabulous manufacturing for them all to be just perfect. All the proper trees selected and chopped down to be smoothed, bent and formed for al the thousands of violins, cellos, bass, etc, with the bows perfectly tuned. The kettle drums, the harps.

Imagine the effort to make a piano! All the wood bent and formed just right with all the proper length and placement of the strings, all manufactured perfectly for the right vibration with length and diameter.

THEN, All that is needed is to produce the hundreds of millions of hours of the dedicated passion, education and practice of all the performers.

THANKS much for your collective efforts to bring this to us all on a Sunday morning, and Special thanks to Admin for the venue.

What a great comment / add to post, ursel doran.
-Love informative videos like that, especially for finely designed instruments.
Thanks for that contribution, and your appreciation of what the composers and craftsmen put out,
so many, many years ago, and as selected and posted by Steve C, Peter, and nkit.
U2, Vixen.

Stumbled on this one, while visiting an old website I used to love.
It’s a clip from 60 minutes, but I’ve no reason to believe it’s a fabrication of
the truth.
Child musical prodigies are something else.
As I imagine Moat’s art was, because Wolfie was amazing at a very early age.
Anyway, enjoy.
