Good Lord!!! How much I have missed each and every one of you!!!
The library finally reopened a couple days ago. However, computer usage is restricted to one hour a day … and only 25 people are allowed to be inside at any one time. What a bunch of FUCKEN PUSSIES … starting with that dickfuk power-hungry control freak; Governor Murphy, who should go suck on some massive Diseased Donkey Dick. (Have you missed my colorful euphemisms?)
I moved back in with my mom on March 1st. It was either that or my sister and I put her in a nursing home. This is out of the question since these places are Covid death traps, and if she were to catch it, she would probably die alone. Not to mention that the least expensive one, while still somewhat adequate, is about $11,000 here in NJ. Fuck that. We already are on the hook for $25,000 out of pocket … and Ms. Freud’s final tab came to just under $1.7 MILLION dollars. Living with mom is more or less a total nightmare; she is in a constant Level 9 pain mode, her open leg wound is now going into year 4, she was recently diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis, she cries constantly, screams and yells often and over nothing, and has learned the art of swearing like a fucking sailor. Thank God for my seester — or I would be in the nuthouse (or, grave) by now.
I’m starting an article titled — “BLM = Mao’s Cultural Revolution. Biden = Fidel Castro. Trump = The Messiah.” But, with just 1 hour a day access, it may take a week to post it.
Speaking of articles …. rather that go thorough the thousand or so that I missed, can some of you provide links to the ones I “MUST” read? Thanks in advance.

You don’t know how happy I was when I saw you working on this post. Ever since AWD died, I always worry when regulars disappear for long periods. I was hoping it was due to no library access, but I admit that I did check obituary notices a few times.

The increased taxes, fees and regulations won’t stop. Along with a nice increase in the gas tax Murphy decided to raise firearm purchase fees. The only ways of escaping the constant regulation is dying or leaving. Murphy doesn’t care. He’s a billionaire and doesn’t mind turning NJ into one big low income housing suburb of NYC.
I’m not the only one leaving when the time comes.

With regard to cops, I’ll be your huckleberry – while I don’t hate cops, and would rather they deal with these communists like I pay them to do so I don’t have to, they’ve largely lost my sympathy as an organization with their unquestioning obedience in enforcing these illegal and unconstitutional lockdowns, enforcing non-binding mask mandates, and fining and shutting down restaurants and businesses for violating nonsensical flu protocols. Thing they won’t do worse to you and I when they are told to?
I have come to believe that we have to take a more balanced look at the police situation in the country, and not judge without better knowledge. There is a serious difference between “police” departments and county sheriffs offices. Police chiefs or administrators are political positions. Whether or not they like the policies they have to follow, they have little choice. County sheriffs on the other hand are usually elected officials – not political appointees – and will more frequently consider themselves and their department to be answerable directly to the people. Take time to investigate your department. Visit the website of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. I joined them earlier this year. We need to make friends wherever we can.

Welcome back! My sympathies with your situation. My mother-in-law just had an Aortic valve replaced via catheter. Almost painless and was home and walking around like nothing happened in 24 hours. Virtually no recovery issues or problems. Overall improvement across the board.

Along with ILuvCO2 I’ve wondered why you don’t get a broadband connection and a cheap laptop. An alternative is a tablet which you can buy for $120, can actually read the screen, and use at multiple locations using free wifi. This would enable you to read all those articles you missed.

I can agree with you halfway on the need for “good” cops. However, that being said, the whole concept of American policing needs to be revamped from bottom to top.
We need to get back to the old “escalation of force” model and away from today’s israel-inspired “command and control” model in which absolute and immediate compliance with police commands is required. Failure to immediately comply, even if multiple conflicting commands are issued usually ends up with tragic results.
All one has to do is look at the case of Daniel Shaver being ordered to crawl with his hands behind his back (something that is impossible for anyone to do) and then being murdered by Mesa AZ cop Phillip Brailsford. To add insult to injury, Brailsford was acquitted by a complacent prosecutor and hand-picked cop-friendly jury. Not only that, Brailsford was re-hired for one day so that he could apply for and receive a pension.
Brailsford had the inscription “you’re f#cked” engraved on the dust cover of his weapon. If an ordinary citizen had such an inscription on his weapon and used it in a true self-defense situation, the prosecutor would have an easy case to prove “intent”, even if no intent were possible,
We need to get back to the concept that ordinary citizens ARE the reason that cops have jobs.
It will take the rollback of a number of court rulings that have expanded “qualified immunity” which in today’s America means that cops have almost absolute immunity from prosecution or lawsuits even if egregious and criminal behavior by police can be proven. Since 1986 it has been extremely difficult to hold cops accountable for their actions.
Not only should immunity rulings be scaled back, police disciplinary records must be readily available, unlike the case today, where police union agreements keep these records sealed.
Actually, police unions should be abolished. Police work for the public, and as such, do not need unions.
Today’s cops KNOW that their actions, even if criminal rarely results in them being held accountable.
THAT has to change.
I have no use for any of the communist “small hat” run movements that are disrupting normal society.
That being said, police are being held back from restoring order by their democRAT municipal officials.

Otto, here is the pretext. Police got a call about a guy up on a hotel balcony with a scoped rifle. That would be Shaver. Drunk and stupid with a pellet gun. The police did not know any of this. Was right after the Vegas massacre. That’s why the police were so jacked up. Did Shaver deserve to die? Of course not. But everything that happened to him was the result of his own foolish actions.
I dont see it like that, at no time did I feel any of the officers were threatened or did I perceive that they did not feel completely in control.
On the other side I would put the fear and compliance level at maximum, and I know the officers could sense that as well.
There was absolutely no excuse for executing that unarmed obsequious kid.
