Not knowing exactly what is going on, I would suspect that it needs to be fine tuned for each patient and their current symptoms/challenges. Also wouldn’t be surprised if adjustments do need to be made as the disease progresses. Identifying the root cause of what seems to be yet another auto-immune type disease (where the body is attacking itself in one way or another), would be an equally beneficial area of study. But then where is the money to be made in PREVENTING diseases? And that’s all you need to know as to why none are being investigated from that perspective.
Literally want to cry seeing that. God bless him.

Mary,me dad also had a form of it,thought they had a good treatment,when it failed he checked himself out,did not want to become a burden on people tis me guess.He died the day was supposed to meet him in Boston,his call a week before started “What do you want to do with the rest of your life?”,he then said he had to go but would see me in a week,sigh……
I wish that man the best moving forward and hope this is till a cure/way to avoid Parkinsons and it’s ilk the tech like other tech gets better daily.

Far different brain issues going on. Actual death of brain cells in Alzheimer’s versus dopamine and neural transmission issues in Parkinson’s. Might be able to help in MS though.

Unfortunately we have a medical system that makes far more money in perpetuating disease and illness, or delivering “band-aids” rather than real cures. Great to see technology like this help out these folks (have known several folks with this disease), but I fear it will more than likely find greater application by the military in some overseas killing spree instead.
The technology displayed in the video is most likely an offshoot of research done by the military, IMHO. And, as Mary Christine said above, ‘Technology is both a blessing and a curse’

I would reply,perhaps god put the scientists and engineers out there to accomplish goals such as this,coming from a agnostic.
Sometimes the science IS the miracle … and vice-versa.
Science and religion are only antagonistic to the extent that the clergy don’t want to see their control and their ca$h flow interfered with — or to the extent that the scientists don’t want to admit to anything beyond their control.

What a beautiful story, but like others I wonder if it will ever gain widespread acceptance since that would adversely affect some drug company’s profits.

Seeing vids like this are both a blessing and a curse. You just can’t help having a tear in your eye when you see how something like this will be life changing, LIFE CHANGING, for this gentleman. That’s the blessing. Sometimes we all feel down in the dumps about difficulties in our own life and wallow in our own pity party. Then, when you see something like this, you realize it could be worse, IT CAN BE WORSE, so easily and quickly, and then you recoil at the pettiness of your situation compared to others(video). This is the curse.
I was a cancer patient at the VA in Los Angeles in ’79 … and there was a WW2 Veteran who had Parkinson’s and was being treated with the new drug, L-Dopa.
It was like watching miracle take place as this old, gentle man came to life again … and was able to take care of himself.
I’m not sure what happened to him … after they made sure he was stable enough, he was sent to another facility where he would get rehab to help him become functional again.
Obviously, as Dr. Sachs showed us in ‘Awakenings’ (Robin Williams movie), the effects (for at least some) didn’t last — and the patients reverted to their former selves.
Still and all … watching the miracle with this old Veteran was profoundly beautiful … and I still remember him after all these years.
