Growing up had this motto to the affect of “A Thrill For The Day” where I tried to do something interesting each and everyday. Might be really exciting, or just like stopping to walk a new plowed field to look for arrowheads or something out of the ordinary. Being self-employed all my life helped as there is always something going on as one can never stop. One of my jobs is mowing this old, huge cemetery, it is about seven acres full of tombstones, with some of people that only lived a day (if that) to some over a hundred years old when they left this Earth.

What’s with that blackboard and all those formulas? If you don’t already know, I’ll tell you; Richard Feynman was one of the greatest physicists of all time. He was a pioneer in quantum physics, even wining a Nobel Prize for his discoveries. Some people may not like him because he helped develop the A-Bomb.
I submit two additional quotes. I think the super-confident religious folks should memorize these quotes. The super-confident are those who absolutely know what God says and wants, not just for themselves., but YOU also, cuz — “it’s in the Bible!!” … the same Bible they read which they use to crush your head with vigorous beatings. Dr. Bahnsen’s 1978 Ph.D. dissertation (written at the University of Southern California) …… was entitled, “A Conditional Resolution of the Apparent Paradox of Self-Deception”
Do a little research on him (even you might be impressed) and I highly recommend reading one of his books “Always Ready”.
Not a super long read but…. IMHO the best book on Christian apologetics that I have ever read.
He also debated numerous atheists … typically eviscerating them. They are also in print and/or audio format.
That’s only sometimes true. I generally only ‘denigrate’ when things get bat-shit crazy …. like snakes boinking Eve, and Cain boinking pre-Adamic women, and Adam being a secret white German, …. whatever.
I do disagree with a lot of conventional Christian doctrines. In those cases I would like to think that I “challenge” believers, not denigrate. Then again, I could be deceiving myself.
I have read many apologetic books. I’ll check out your link. However, if you supplied the link because you think I’m an atheist …. you would be very, very wrong.

as an aside Bahnsen died on the operating table (from a broken heart most would say) very young (relatively). His final sermon to his congregation prior to the surgery is also worth the read.

Stucky- Your journey to illumination has greatly improved since you became interested in quantum physics. The meaning of God is different once you really understand what is in and around you. 🙂
Always move forward because if you stop you’re already dead. If you’re not sure exactly what to do it’s better to do something than to do nothing. When you don’t know use your gut because most of your time it’s right in a quick pinch. Feelings and emotions get you in trouble when you let them consume your soul but in a pinch, spur of the moment that sixth sense is correct.
Indecision has killed more people that any handgun or rifle.
If you have strong core beliefs and you follow them, you will grow into the person you want to be.
