US Warship “Expelled” From South China Sea By PLA Forces

Via ZeroHedge

The superpower clash between China and the U.S. continued on Friday as a U.S. Navy ship sailed near the Chinese-controlled Paracel Islands in the heavily disrupted South China Sea, only to get an stern rebuke (and what some would call, an appropriate response) from Beijing.

The USS John S. McCain, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, entered the waters near Paracel islands Friday without China’s permission on a “freedom of navigation operation,” the first known operation in the heavily disputed area under the new Biden administration.

Shortly after, CGTN reported that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) “expelled” the destroyer after it “trespassed” into China’s territorial waters. Tian Junli, a spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command, said the move “seriously infringed China’s sovereignty and security.” He said PLA troops in the region are on “high alert at all times to protect the peace and stability of the region.”

The heavily disputed waterway is one of the flashpoints in the U.S.-China relationship, including a trade war, technology war, U.S. sanctions, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

U.S. sailings of warships near the militarized islands in the South China Sea have angered Beijing in the past.

The U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet said the destroyer USS John S. McCain “asserted navigational rights and freedoms in the vicinity of the Paracel Islands, consistent with international law”.

Meanwhile, according to the latest naval deployment map from Stratfor, other US naval ships located just off China’s coast include the carrier CVN 71 Roosevelt, and the LHA 6 America large Amphibious group.

Last month, USS Theodore Roosevelt entered the South China Sea for what the Navy called a routine freedom of navigation operation. There’s more here than meets the eye as a great power competition continues to brew between both countries.

Over the past year, the U.S. has increased aerial patrols, and U.S. Navy warship sails through the disrupted region and near and through the Taiwan Strait, an exercise aimed at angering Beijing. Such “close encounters” and US flyovers and sail throughs in the South China Sea and near Taiwan become more frequent during the tail-end of the Trump presidency.

As Al Jazeera notes, “Last year Chinese military jets made a record 380 incursions into Taiwan’s defence zone, with some analysts warning tensions between the two sides were at their highest since the mid-1990s.”

Earlier in the week Monday two US reconnaissance planes flew near Taiwan’s airspace at a moment Taipei has begun to publicly acknowledge for the first time the presence of both American and Chinese PLA jets sometimes in the same aerial defense zones, which constitutes an alarming and highly dangerous situation.

It is more than just barely possible that this whole thing is a scripted act in a drama that the Globalist types put on every single day. Possible that it is intended (as propaganda/psy-op material) to move broad public opinion this way or that to suit the needs of our overseers. Also possible that the McCain was just sailing blithely along, minding it’s own business, maybe going to the store to get some Skittles…. It IS possible….

Maybe we are being prepped for the day when the Chinamen sail their frigates into the Caribbean, or Gulf of Mexico, or arrange for a nice base in Mexico just south of Tijuana. That is possible as well.

What isn’t possible is that you or I are going to affect any of this (be it real or theatrical) at all. Don’t get distracted by this globalist BS from watching out for the fucking they have planned for us right here, in our own hometowns, imposed by people we know. That is where the real story is playing out.

Why would they care about “broad opinion” at this point?

USS John McCain? They named a ship after that evil puke? No wonder things are what they are…..Imagine having to serve on a vessel named after a mass murderer and turncoat. As to the situation regarding the ‘encounter?’ Expect lots more of that. The current administration is following through on finishing up what Obama/Clinton started regarding turning the military into a politically correct paper tiger.

The Chinese tell Xiden’s handlers that they’ll bitch and moan loudly to make everyone think Xiden is tough on China, ready to take Xi “out behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.”
If only he could remember what a gym is and where.

Mygirl … My Girl … Love Your take on McCain! I couldn’t agree more. And Your observation is spot on target on the rest, too. I’d go into greater detail, but I’d only be preaching to the choir.

Keep fighting the good fight and keep the faith.

It was actually named after Sen. McCain’s father , an Admiral , as was McCain’s Grandfather . Sen. McCain was a blue blood legacy to the Naval Academy , who luckily never wore a command at sea pin.

Democrat fuquery covers 99% of what goes on there every day or night. Some version of it no doubt. Maybe the $1.9 Trillion BS Kamalato broke the tie on? Typical fuquery as it is billed as a big stimulus and rescue for the poor peasants though it just gives us our own money or dilutes the value of what money we may have.
After deducting the stimulus to the people about 90% of this “rescue bill” goes WHERE?

How appropriate that a ship named after a neocon warhawk would be the bait for China to test their CM-401 anti-ship missile. seen here: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7689116/china-unveils-terrifying-new-anti-ship-missile-it-claims-can-destroy-a-us-warship-in-a-single-hit/ .

It worked with the USS Liberty, as long as you weren’t on board.

God only knows what “arrangement” China has with Joe.

Sacrificing another ship, along with a few hundred crew, to launch the next adventure.

That ship is named after his ADM grandfather who died in 1945.

I notice them talking about an LHA-6 group. I had to look that up. I served on a Tarawa class LHA. The changes they have made to the replacements are interesting. I wasn’t sure what had replaced the old ones. They were impressive.

China’s action in this case would be no different, if the U.S. were to issue one of their ships a “strong rebuke” for sailing between the U.S. and Cuba. The distance between China and Taiwan is 110 miles and the space between an international waterway; the distance between the U.S. and Cuba is 90 miles.

Although Cuba was never claimed by the U.S, we did help it achieve independence from Spain, and given the love for America most Cubans had at the time, the U.S. probably could have — and most likely should have — annexed Cuba in 1898. Taiwan was largely an island and a society unto itself, with its own indigenous people, similar and yet unlike the Chinse of the Ming and Qing dynasties that would come to rule Taiwan from about 1600 to 1895 when it was ceded to Japan. One should recall that Taiwan actually fought on Japan’s side during WWII.

After 1945, Taiwan came under control of Chiang Kai-Shek and the anti-Communist Chinese, and has pretty well rejected any suggestions, aggressions, or overtures aimed at any reunification under Communist China Mainland control.

China only had the right to object if the U.S. battleship had drifted into a 12 mile territorial zone recognized by international law under a 1982 treaty, although some might make mention of the fact that the nations can claim a 200 mile zone under the Law of the Sea Treaty — but this is only for limited economic purposes; even though the U.S. became a signatory by Machiavellian design under the USMCA, largely negotiated by Obama holdovers in the Trump administration, it holds no weight here.

The U.S. was well within its rights and must push back on China’s attempts to hold international waterways hostage to economic blackmail, especially in the South China Sea, where China has used it’s man-made islands to disrupt shipping, since 2014.

China’s maneuvers to control international waterways is part of its greater designs to unify all of Southeast Asia, both Koreas and the Philippines under its communist hegemonic tyrannical banner.

Strange no one mentioned that the USS John McCain had a collision with a merchant ship a couple of years ago, killing quite a few sailors.

https://news.usni.org/2018/08/21/35947

Maybe the Chinese were afraid they might run into a junk or even a white whale. Could be the Chinese were trying to save the enviroment.
John McCain destroyed more US aircraft in one hour than the Vietnamese did in a couple of years. Now the ship has killed more US sailors than the whole Chinese Navy.
