This guy has BIG brass ones. In a way, it reminds me of the concluding gathering in V for Vendetta. It will be interesting to see if he is able to attend his own gathering.
In the US, he would have a terrible accident, get killed in a random mugging or get arrested and commit suicide while in custody. FIB would never allow him to show up.

So, where to from here? As I have said on many occasions, when the Brits lose it – they really go nuts and he is a typical example of what our rulers fear because they know it too. Our ancient heritage of warring tribes has only been masked by a thin veneer of civilisation.

Possibly Cricket, you could be right. I think the Davos crowd know they have gone too far, too fast – time to back-pedal for a while and think about the next fearmongering scenario; autumn will be the next test. Maybe a scariant, EMP or Taiwan invasion – nothing is excluded these days IMHO.
This scenario has played out multiple times here in Ontario, Canada. The government says they’re going to loosen restrictions and then a day or two before things are due to open up, they claim a spike in cases, or there’s some new virus variant and lock us down even harder.
They have gone too far, and have shown there is no exit strategy here. They intend to try to keep us locked down until at least December, and then I’m sure they’ll declare a climate emergency and try to lock us down forever.

I think it’s all over, Leah for now but the autumn will be another matter. My father, who died of complications from bedsores in 2014 because he was so demented he would not allow medical assistance and was so stubborn and hateful no one really tried, I suspect, would have been 100 years old July 18th this year, 99 the year this was posted.
It is hard for old dudes like this one to be confined to a bed.
Since I somehow ended up here this morning while scrolling along, I figured I should say something.
I look on that photo the way some people gaze at images of sun drenched beaches.
Baling hay in midsummer on your own piece of ground is one of the greatest accomplishments known to man. Some people would see that as hard work, to me it looks like satisfied contentment.
HSF, I was throwing hay bales onto a truck as a yout so it is nostalgia for me driving through farm country during hay season.
