The Ice-Cream Flavor Next Time

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

A nation mesmerized by its own weakness wanly celebrated the long-ago and faraway memory of standing up for itself, while it passively endures the current orgy of tyrannical cancellation and suppression of anyone talking back to the present folks-in-charge. Over just a few years, this tyranny has grown like a toxic slime mold from such an unlikely place, the Internet social app ecology of Facebook, Twitter, and Google, as they took over the public arena — where the battle of ideas is supposed to live — and did the government’s dirty work, complete with adorable emojis. You’re fired!

Who will stand up to Zuck, Jack, and Sundar Pichai? Who elected these megalomaniacs boss of the USA? What will it take to end their reign of terror? Some sort of… revolution? (Shhhh! That must be a dirty word, even considering we just celebrated the high point of the American Revolution: The Declaration of Independence, signed July 4, 1776.)

Don’t look to “Joe Biden,” the nation’s putatively elected leader — about whose election back in November, 2020, you are liable to hear more about as the summer stickily unspools. Zuck, Jack, and Sundar managed to protect “Joe Biden” from the stupendous depredations of his offspring, Hunter Biden, recorded in explosive detail on a laptop the public was not allowed to hear about. Don’t look to the Department of Justice, supposedly “investigating” that horde of memos and emails detailing the Bidens’ influence-peddling to the CCP and others — they’re busy surveilling “white supremacists” on the apps run by Zuck, Jack, and Sundar. And for sure don’t look to the news media, that coalition of sell-outs and quislings, busy decoding the foreign policy moves signified in “Joe Biden’s” ice-cream flavor choices. (Rocky Road means: Oh, let China have that….)

Wondering who is actually running the “Joe Biden” government? Some of us out here are. (Do you think we’re allowed to say that?) For instance, have you tried googling the name Susan Rice lately? Remember her? Maybe not. “Joe Biden” appointed her Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council. From the looks of things across the country, you’d think her plate would be heaped mighty high, what with “insurrection” and other white mischief threatening to take down the republic.  Anyway, I googled “news” for her. Hardly a goshdarn thing came up that wasn’t from months ago, and most of that was sheer puffery about how accomplished she is, and what a fabulous person. Don’t you wonder what her phone log looks like? All those calls to the Obama residence, day after day, hour after hour?

All of which raises the question: is the USA just floating merrily merrily down the stream of events under the beneficent reign of “Joe Biden” (Susan Rice, Barack Obama & Co…)? Or are we, rather, freefalling? I suspect it is the latter. And toward what? It being mid-year, I will venture a few guesses. Enjoy the summer while you can because Corona Virus is coming back in the fall and watch out for people who are vaccinated getting sicker than the un-vaxed. That will be a mind-bender, as if Americans are not already utterly perplexed and bewildered by one political swindle after another. The whining will drown out even the news of more “white supremacy.” But they told us….

An autumn wave of Covid-19 (one “variant” or another) would take out whatever remains of the service economy, the restaurants struggling just now to return to normality (ha!), the hair salons, the gyms, the florists, booksellers, sports, theaters, live music venues, what-have-you. Since we no longer have much of a manufacturing economy, the only thing left would be Wall Street — which was originally designed to raise money for the manufacturing and service sector but now only raises money for itself via the seemingly magical mingling of “leverage” with “liquidity” to conjure profit from black holes where the ghosts of productivity howl.

It’s some trick but, let’s face it, it’s still just a trick. Also in that picture is the weird three-legged race of deflation tied to inflation running both uphill and downhill at the same time like a nightmare out of M.C. Escher by way of Stephanie Kelton. The USA will be toting up a $3-trillion-plus deficit just for the current fiscal year at the same time that debt becomes ever more obviously unpayable. How does debt even mean anything if there is no prospect of paying it back? Especially in the form of financial instruments, namely: bonds. And how does a financial system based on debt behave when all that is the case? I guess we’re going to find out.

My guess would be a price collapse in financial instruments — abstract things represented by money — and then a collapse of money itself. You may be thinking: not a pretty picture. I know. And we thought the last days of the Soviet Union were bad in 1990. Hoo boy, are we in for a rough ride.  One can hardly imagine the social side-effects of all that, but it would seem to imply people having a rather hard time finding something to eat, or getting anything else they need. Remember good ol’ Ross Perot talking about “a giant sucking sound?” Think of that against a background of things on fire. What flavor ice-cream will “Joe Biden” be ordering on Halloween?

Frankly, one of Kunstler’s best articles. And I love the opener:

A nation mesmerized by its own weakness wanly celebrated the long-ago and faraway memory of standing up for itself, while it passively endures the current orgy of tyrannical cancellation and suppression of anyone talking back to the present folks-in-charge.

I wish I had read it on July 3, and had that sentence printed on professional-looking business cards to hand out to the celebrants around the community.

Anyone notice how so many of Congress’ dark skinned, perpetual victims have recently spouted off about how bad it is that America takes time to honor the many traditional facets of Independence Day-you know, stuff like fireworks? Was headed to the kitchen when the OW had the “news” on around dinner time and noticed the talking head cunt in the red dress yammering on about how detrimental fireworks was. At first I thought the story may have been about the worst day of the year for our canine buddies-we all know how Fido and Rover get pretty upset with all the noise on the 4th. But no, her story was about PTSD and fireworks noise as it affects people. Tried explaining to the OW that it would be a great story if it were about dogs, but that instead the media is in lock-step with the DC dark skins on this one and that it is just one big, coordinated propaganda ploy. Huh, she says? Well, we just got Juneteenth rammed down our throats, so it is high time we invalidate Independence day. Clever liberals. But, when SHTF time comes I doubt that all of ’em will be able to find suitable hiding places.

“My guess would be a price collapse in financial instruments — abstract things represented by money — and then a collapse of money itself.”

i would reverse that order. completely intangible fiat currency represents zero actual value while equities represent fractional ownership of real assets (if you buy the right ones with healthy balance sheets). this is why commodities are pricing up relative to fiat, also art, classic cars, oil, housing, etc., though i realize there are additional factors involved. it’s so manic that even intangibles like cryptos and NFTs are racing ahead vs. fiat. quality real assets are sought out in currency debasement eras. Procter & Gamble is likely to outlive the U.S. dollar.

I just have to say it. . . .

If you put this in a time machine and sent it to me back in 2010 and said, “this is Kunstler’s blog”, I would not believe you. Clearly, Kunstler has had the tar pounded out of him these last couple of years and is no longer worried about peak oil and our urban landscape – the only two things he ever spoke of back then. He sounds to me like an alt-right prepper here in 2021. My, how the goalposts have shifted.

Kunstler is also having a hard time with the FACT that men can now put on a dress and compete as women in the Olympics. My prediction is that the Olympics have now jumped the shark and will go the way of the Oscars.

Let’s certainly hope so, about the Olympics in particular and pro-sports in general. Make it disappear so that the Lumpen worldwide can focus their minds a little and consider how the B3RG* wants to enslave or kill them.

The Proles have already written off Gropey Joe. He went to Antrim County Michiganistan over the weekend and 25 people came to see him. TWENTY-FIVE. One to two thousand times as many stood in a rainstorm to see Trump in Sarasota FL. Millions watched on various media. The Lumpen seem to be getting very focused.

He surely has taken a first rate beating for calling the politics like he see’s it over the past 36+ months.
And yet he persists, in the face of mockery and denunciation. Truly a diamond in the rough.

You skipped over his stance in early 2017: he was one of the first “independent” bloggers to fullheartedly join the ‘worst prez ever’ chorus!
My pet name for him became Kunt-slur, during that period.

He truly has come a long way…
Or in other words: some people do learn, at least it seems.

Trump was not a good president, but far from the worst. There is a lot of competition in that category.

Yes, but you missed the point: Kuntslur [back then] wrote that in early 2017.
Meaning he had totally fallen for the Dem propaganda apparatus, at the time.

I have mentioned to several that the normal seasonal flu this fall will be the trigger for another round of masking and lockdowns. As usual, like they did when I was predicting in early 2020 most of what came to be, they deny it could happen and call me paranoid. They can’t even acknowledge that what I predicted would happen, did. And when the fall plays out as predicted, they will again deny that anyone warned them.

There is something very wrong with the cognitive faculties and memory of a vast majority. I feel like the only sane person in the nut house.

I’ve noticed that too but I think I know why. See, most people are Monday Quarterbacks or Armchair Generals. They like to talk about things that happened in the past and what should have been done. As for myself, owning my own business means that I have to live my life as a fortune teller. For example, if I depend on something that comes from India and India just went to an all-digital currency and people seem pissed about it then I have to predict how that will affect me in 6 months or in a year.

People that are not in the habit of making predictions are simply incapable of unpacking what you are trying to tell them.

Here’s my 10¢ worth…First, I’d buy a good truck. You might not be able to buy one in the near future. Same goes for any old appliances you own. Replace them now. Get a sufficient sized LP fired generator for your house, bury a 1,000 gal. tank for it if you have the room.

Buy lots of comfy clothes. And lead. Make sure all “protective” assets are in working order.

We’ve spent 3 yrs learning how to be small scale veggie farmers. A small greenhouse is a good idea. We rarely need to heat ours during the winter but do w/ a small electric unit when it gets to 32º – around 4-5 nights last year, usually 1-2 here.

Everyone talks about inflation, but if Prez * tries to lock down it’ll be deflation. They can’t let the USD go to hell. 70% are held outside of the US. Devaluation would start WWIII. Fed will have to do a minor rate increase.

TPTB can’t stop inflation no more than King Canute could stop the tide. If you print 3 trillion dollars of Welfare and think you can stop Inflation, you probably have taken the Booster Shot and now have holes in your brain.

The mainstream US media reported that Biden had ice cream and asked him again what flavor he got and for his favorite. (As you know, they ask him this all the time, and it is usually the toughest question he gets without his notecards.) I need to get anything meaningful from foreign sources (and of course here). The foreign press still has biases, but at least they report things the US press finds unpleasant. There was a picture of him at a small ice cream shop and there are two boom mics, a camera man, at least two photographers and this happens. I understand small towns are excited to have the president in town, but CNN did a three minute segment on his ice cream fetish and doesn’t touch his touching and sniffing little girls hair, much less the World being on fire.

“Wondering who is actually running the “Joe Biden” government?…”
The community JHK is slouching toward claims to know the answer.
My favorite Liburul – JHK – voted for him – twice!!
