The Science Cult Circa 2021

By Francis Marion

Dealing with the science cult in 2021:
Me: I got a rash swimming in the lake yesterday.
Cult member: Did you get a prescription for it?
Me: No. I used grandma’s baking soda remedy to get rid of it.
Cult member: You used baking soda to cure a rash caused by swimming in the lake?
Me: Yeah, why?
Cult member: Well, how do you know it worked? Baking soda isn’t made for curing rashes.
Me: I know it worked because the rash is gone.
Cult member: How do you know it’s gone?
Me: Because it’s not there anymore.
Cult member: Well, how do you know the baking soda did it?
Me: Because I put the baking soda on my skin, it stung and a little while
later the rash was gone.
Cult member: Yeah, but how do you know the baking soda is directly related to the rash’s disappearance?
Me: Huh?
Cult member: Baking soda is not made for curing rashes. Where are the double blind studies showing it does?
Me: What the fuck are you talking about?
Cult member: Where are the peer reviewed double blind studies that prove the baking soda works for curing rashes?
Me: I used it. It worked. My rash is gone. Why the hell do I need a peer reviewed double blind study?
Cult: Aren’t you worried about side affects?
Me: No. Don’t the creams the doctor would have prescribed have side affects too?
Cult: Doctor prescribed pharmaceuticals are safe. Self administering remedies from your pantry could have unknown side affects assuming that they actually even work.
Me: The rash is gone. We use baking soda daily for other purposes almost always without incident. What’s your problem?
Cult member: My problem is people using things like baking soda irresponsibly for purposes it was never intended for. Now when you tell people it cures rashes they’re going to use it without consulting a physician and you’re going to fill up our ER’s with idiots who don’t know what they’re doing. I heard just the other day that some ignorant red necks in the Ozarks ate a cup of it and almost died because they thought it would cure their rash. Bottom line is you shouldn’t be using it for rashes. So until there’s some actual long term studies on how it works we’ll have to remove it from everyone’s kitchen.
Me: If you come near my kitchen pantry I’m going to stick my foot up your ass.
Cult member: You’re an anti science hate monger.

Moral of the story, Grandma knew what she was doing while modern medicine is legalized drug dealing.

I heard that if you mix it with powder cocaine and microwave the mixture, you get crack, and I’m against drugs, so I would NEVER put baking soda on my legs to cure a rash…..I might get addicted. More 2021 logic.

I don’t know if he realizes he just summarized the bizarre mentality many doctors have in general.

Once you realized that “doctors” get paid for prescriptions and procedures you better understand the “health industry”.

An “industry” that would be in big trouble if people stayed healthy, and stopped taking pharmaceuticals….

I run more into doctors making decisions based on statistics and lawyers. I don’t really need their help with meds, except to prescribe them. Most of the crap on the market is worthless poison, but not all of it.

And most of the useful meds (usually from days of old, with expired patents and a long history) can be sourced without prescription from online pharmacies or vet suppliers.

Sounds identical to the discussion I had with my 20something two nights ago. I was stunned, horrified and almost hung up on em for the 1st time in my life.
Today I sent em the ivermectin study via barnhardt just to keep pounding the nail.

I’ve not made a note of that one.
Maybe that’ll get em to take it, lol.

Ghost;

Have you tried my appletini idea?
Apple mixes with a lot of fruit flavors; it’s used to cut heavier fruit juices.
So you could also use it in a cosmo.
A screwdriver will also give a nice boost of Vitamin C.
Don’t do a greyhound; the grapefruit juice and alcohol combined may inhibit the normal metabolism of the ivermectin (vicious rumor).

I gave up years ago trying to talk to the cult. I will always come down on the side of natural remedy and don’t give a rat’s behind what others think. God provided what we need…..period.

Good stuff, Francis. Good stuff.

You are telling people to use drain cleaner on their rashes. That’s irresponsible! /sarcasm

That’s a really good story. I’ll be sharing it with friends.

Actually the clinical trials for Pfizer’s vaccine are even worse than what you imagine them to be: https://www.fda.gov/media/151707/download

It’s funny how they arbitrarily made their claims ignoring dozens if not hundreds of factors involved in transmission and what not: peak Cargo Cult Science.

I was almost instantly disgusted with it. From the moment this coronovirus hoax blew up, professors were defending bizarre claims using non-sequiturs. Their safety data is similar I know they know better.

Granny’s Miracle Cold Cure: Drink liquids, take aspirin and it’ll be gone in two weeks.

Big Pharma’s Miracle Cold Cure: Spend $40-$80 on medicines, drink liquids, take aspirin and it’ll be gone in two weeks.
