If I, Stucky, were the Devil …
I would come up with with a totally false Doctrine that would cause Christians to abandon their God given ability to reason and think logically, that would prevent them from helping themselves during troubling times, that would turn their minds into mush by believing they will be rescued from bad shit even if they do nothing, and that would turn them into Big Fat Couch Potato Asses pontificating their puerile prognostications upon all peoples perpetually. I would call it “Rapture”.
If by “right” we mean faithfulness to the spirit of tradition, meaning the tradition that talks about an uncreated order of values, which are grasped though intellectual intuition and are independent of any arbitrary will, not even the divine one; and
if by “left” we mean, on the contrary, the rejection not merely of certain historical superstructures but of those very values, which are “unmasked” to show their true nature as oppressive ideologies, imposed by the dominant classes in order to protect themselves,
well, then it seems that in no other historical period has the left advanced so dramatically as during the last quarter of a century.
Note: I understand “left” and “right” used by Del Noce here as a thought experiment, not as his basic definitions.
Now only on my third reading of that above paragraph -with long breaks to, and between the previous two readings-, suddenly my “put yourself in the shoes of a psychopath”-meter redlines, on this part:

Do you see the genius in that line of thought?
You bring the common people to abandon and destroy their values all by themselves, by brainwashing them into believing those values were imposed [on them] by the dominant classes in order to protect themselves [i.e. protect their dominance] while actually the exact opposite is true: those values were the only thing that acted as a defense against unrestrained actions of the dominant classes.
If I were the devil, I’d use money to control people’s minds. G.R.E.E.D. is our downfall. People that I know, will do anything not to lose their economic status. Anything.
If I were the devil, I’d convince the world I was god.
Isaiah 14:12-14 KJB… “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
And, wouldn’t ya know, that’s exactly what he did!
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 KJB… “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
And his ministers run mainline churchianity!

Most people who believe in the rapture are wrong but not evil or intentionally sinful. Many who purvey rapture in organized churches are evil and intentionally sinful.
