my dads family was raised in the Catholic church, schools and all that stuff. Years ago I ask my uncle why he became a Presbyterian minister he told me when he went to Catholic church it was full of Catholics but there was very few Christians there.

Galatians 2:16 KJB… “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
Christ did all the work necessary to save your never dying soul. It’s a gift we receive by faith in HIS work, not our own. I sure hope so.
