Meet the Consensus Sign

In the deep past, when you and I were learning arithmetic in government indoctrination centers (public schools), we used the equal sign, ‘=’. Little did we understand the dark implications of such a symbol, embodying white supremacy, slavery, racism and, even lynching and pickup truck dragging. Fortunately, today the woke have taught us the truth of ‘=’, and how it is used as a tool of oppression every bit as wicked as US government slavers on horseback whipping fleeing Haitians.

Also in those times, the word ‘consensus’ was rarely used, only applying to the mystical predictions of committees of economists, which we all ignored. We have learned however, through the enlightenment of modern progressive liberalism, that consensus is a term rich in meaning and able to move our society in a positive direction. Today, every upward movement you can name is associated with the consensus of educated professionals, scientists, medical doctors, and leaders of the cause. Consensus is power, and power is, well, power.

To grasp a concept and use it effectively, we have to attach language, symbology, and context. Where would red be without apple, where would ho be without rap, and where would stupid be without the milk crate challenge? To further ground and grow the concept of consensus in our society, I propose a new glyph, a new mathematical operator if you will, the consensus sign. This new symbol replaces the outdated and racist equal sign with something more in tune with modern thinking, in ways I will now illustrate.

First, the form of the consensus sign. We need a symbol that is easily written by young hands, easy to typeset, and easy to recognize. I propose the following:

This symbol may look similar to the oppressive equal sign, but it has many advanced qualities. First of all, it has a curved appearance like the inclusive LGBTQ multi-color rainbow. Second, it is fun to draw. What kid has not used his/her/they/them box of multicultural crayons to draw a rainbow, imagining the day of equity and fairness for all peoples of color and various sexual persuasions and genders. (It’s easy if you try.) Third, the symbol is flexible, such that anyone drawing the consensus sign like this:

will not be ostracized or bullied, but rather will be celebrated for their diversity. There is no such thing as a sloppy human being, just as there is no illegal human being.

The consensus sign is applied much like the now taboo equal sign:

1+1 4

Here we see the consensus is that one plus one is four, which is of course totally valid, depending on the situation and level of systemic oppression in play. (Consult any Congressional appropriations bill for more examples.)

However, the consensus sign applies in many other non-mathematical contexts, such as these popular instances (pronounce the sign “by consensus is”, or “by consensus are”):

global warming  true

a fetus  not alive

vaccination  preventing infection

old people  not worth keeping alive

infinite spending and debt  good

government dependency  ultimate freedom

9/11  our fault

war waged by Republicans  bad

war waged by Democrats  good

news media  our friend

See? This is a powerful tool to convey critical concepts to the masses.

The consensus sign also will create hope and change. With every new problem humanity encounters, the consensus sign will be out front, leading societal evolution. For example, as domestic terrorism increases in the US,

interning domestic terrorists  good for America

That consensus is in our near future. The current consensus is this:

white people  bad

This consensus is even approved by a consensus of white people, with only a few racists in the south opposing.

Consensus is also independent of outmoded concepts like truth. Consensus forms its own truth:

This is also a powerful tool in shaping our society.

Some consensus seems contradictory:

conservative consensus  no consensus at all

But when we consider that there can only be valid progressive consensus, then it all makes sense. Conservative consensus is actually conspiracy to commit domestic terrorism.

How do we reach consensus? Consensus sometimes comes about when people happen to agree on a topic and course of action. But most often consensus is simply bought, as with the CARES Act sending 100 billion dollars to hospitals, purchasing their consensus on the pandemic. The absolutists would call this bribery, but the consensus is that

and so it must be, because of consensus.

Consensus is also intentionally promoted and grown by the best and brightest among us, using our allies in the fight for one world government, the new media. The consensus sign not only expresses existing consensus, but our I have a dream of a consensus we envision for a better world, also promoted by media. The previously referenced song, Imagine, is packed with forward looking consensus, from one of our brightest, and is only now coming to fruition:

religion  harmful and unnecessary

God  nonexistent

heaven and hell  figments of deranged minds

having no countries  world peace

owning nothing  beneficial for everybody

As consensus forms, people see the right way forward, and move in that direction. For the others:

those not for us  haters

With consensus, the only constant is change. If the current consensus ever becomes obsolete, new consensus must be formed:

old consensus  discarded and forgotten

This can be accomplished at light speed in today’s Internet connected world. Since absolutes are oppressive and racist, absolutes such as truth, consensus can easily compensate for changing conditions in the world without the inconvenience of thought or logic.

Some may ask, consensus of whom? What people are involved? The consensus responds

which is the beauty of consensus for those working together to run other peoples’ lives. After all, consensus is not about consensus, but power, and, well, power is about power.

Consensus is a useful tool of subversion against our enemies, if you have not gathered that by now. Planting several opposing consensuses in our opponents’ camp guarantees perpetual strife and infighting, keeping them out of our way. This is particularly effectively among conservative intellectual groups and is the tool of choice against religious types, none more than people of the cloth. Multi-sided consensus on artificial, meaningless, unprovable and useless theories (even if correct) has kept Christians fighting amongst themselves for two thousand years. It matters not how outrageous is the premise, the conflicts endure through the centuries, and Internet videos have given these arguments eternal life. Not to give away the game, but here are just a few.

The flexibility of consensus can be seen today in the pandemic response. The initial consensus that masks do not protect against viruses was quickly changed to require one mask per person. Then the consensus adapted to require two masks. Then it grew to require vaccinations, and now booster shots. In Australia, the consensus supports detaining the sick and infected in hotels, and jailing vaccine and lockdown resisters.

Now a person might look at those specific actions and be offended or shocked. That’s the wrong way to look at things. Since there are no absolutes, the consensus view is by definition the right view, and whatever happens in support of the consensus is by definition the right thing to do. This simplifies the decision making process considerably, relieving those in charge from any restrictions of stale morality.

There are people who do resist the progressive flow of consensus.

These people impede the entirety of society, worldwide, and must be eliminated.

In spite of our best efforts, these resisters persist in living free. They persist in building free community. They persist in demanding and exercising their rights, rights which of course by their very nature oppress people of color.

They even attempt to drag people of color away into freedom. Thus,

and this must be stopped at all costs. The biggest danger to consensus is an individual who champions absolute truth, freedom, and independent thought. The consensus is that

independent people  slated for death

and with there being no moral restrictions in a consensus based society, this is not a problem, except that (by their consensus, not ours)

We’re still working on that one, to develop an acceptable consensus.

I hope you will embrace the consensus sign and further move our society toward the sparkling nirvana that awaits. Spread this new tool of language and change on social media, and to all your consensus approved cultural diversities.
