Because, you know…
Don’t lose sight of what’s important.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone who can see the silver linings on the darkest clouds.

Yes! 100 percent Joy!
Absolutely Outstanding!
Awww…totally smiling. It’s the little things…really.
That was great.
At first I thought the dog’s paws were just cold. But then I saw it was smiling.
My 8 year old asked me today what is better: a short life full of joy or a long life full of hardship.
I said that that is a very good question that humans have pondered for centuries. I have no answer, but I know that length of time is not the most important thing, and neither is perpetual joy or the absence of hardship.
Good question, Svarga. I have a lot to say about this, but not in the mood to go that deep right now. My dad has written about this very topic. He (and others) have changed my perception regarding hardship. In the grand scheme of things, I believe it’s a privilege to experience hardship. Sounds crazy, huh? Well, I’m not crazy. Maybe we can discuss in depth later.
Abi, we live in a world which is run by people who’ve never known a hard day in their lives. They come from families who come from families. They were born with a silver foot in their mouths.
And it all goes back to decisions made in the year 1776, in America and Britain.
Let me stop. Yes, there is much to discuss at a later time. I look forward to it!
Svarga – A full life will contain both joy and hardship. Hardship creates character. Joy creates humanity. A proper mental attitude will help you overcome the hardships in life so you can appreciate the joy
Nailed it.
Hardship and joy are things between your ears, not in the world around you. Which do you choose?
A really great post, Francis. I’ve never seen a dog trot(?) like that and the meme about Christmas is spot on perfect. Happiness cannot be bought.

I think this will be the wreath I hang every year for the rest of my life.
My wife and I bought no presents for each other.
We both had cancer removed from us this year.
We were simply grateful to still be with the one we loved.
We are blessed.
Same dog?
I have “owned” 8 dogs in my life, and have been around hundreds more, and I have to say that I have NEVER seen the gait on either the first or this dog before….and I have seen some strange gaits caused by strokes and similar. They both seem to be enjoying themselves, they both seem like they might be the same breed. Certainly possible, in the same way that some horses have unique gaits that no others ones do, they might as well. The neighborhood in this video doesn’t look like the kind of place that gets the kind of snow as in the original video, so if its the same dog, they went to find the snow.
Romans 8:18 KJB… “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Dogs rock!
