Update on the Ukrainian Front

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

It is over. Putin has won.

Victoria Nuland, the neoconservative war monger appointed Undersecretary of State by the White House fool, announced Washington’s surrender when she called on China to use its influence with Russia to save Ukraine from invasion. She thus acknowledges what everyone had already concluded: the US and NATO lack the capability.

Washington’s surrender followed the request of the Ukrainian president that Washington stop the “Russian invasion” propaganda as there were no signs of an invasion being prepared and Washington’s rhetoric was too provocative. Germany refused flyover permission to the UK for arms deliveries to Ukraine. Two NATO members announced that they would not send troops if NATO got involved in Ukraine. Washington saw the writing on the wall.

Most countries saw Washington’s refusal to agree to the Russian mutual security proposal as unreasonable and dangerous. Moreover, Washington’s strategy of arming and training the Ukrainians and provoking them into a major attack on the Donbass Russians has failed. Ukraine knows that Russia will not permit any significant damage to Donbass. Moreover, Ukrainians are unsure they could even defeat the Donbass army, which is probably armed with the new Russian high impact weapons. Ukraine understands that Russia can wipe out its forces with conventional missiles without sending troops across the border. The Ukrainians also know that no one will be coming to their aid. The Pentagon itself announced that no US troops will be sent to Ukraine.

The fact that Washington publicly rejected the Russian proposal means nothing as Washington has no alternative but to accept it. The Russian foot came down hard, as it needed to do, and everyone including Washington understands that Ukraine will never be a member of NATO.

Th US/NATO missile bases in Poland and Romania will be quietly removed over time. Washington will continue to bluster and threaten but is unable to take any action. The diplomatic Russians will allow Washington to save face in some arranged way.

All that is necessary at this point is that the diplomats in the Russian foreign ministry, who tend to put too much faith in signed documents, and Russian hardliners understand that Washington’s rejection of the proposal has been rendered meaningless and that Putin has won.

The world has adjusted to Russia’s inflexible demand and unmatched military superiority backed up by China.

In view of the appearance on the scene of long overdue Russian assertiveness, I expect Washington to draw in its horns and to move toward a more cooperative and peaceful position.

Good won over evil, President Putin was an instrument of that good.
The fact that Nuland was even involved again with all this speaks volumes of the evil behind it.

I’m sorry, but you are listening and buying in to the propaganda. I would not be so quick to put Putin and the Russian Federation in the category of ‘good’. Far from it. We’ve got massive problems on the homefront that are self-evident but, too many are buying into the bullshit that Putin is a good guy — he’s not. He’s a ruthless dictator that has left many bodies in is wake.

Former KGB is enough right there. Also, more than a few poisoned (radiation isotopes) in those that were not on his team and had left Russia. If you want to have a bromance with this guy, be my guest. Just because our own country is falling into the abyss, for a plethora of reasons, let’s not pretend that Putin is the answer to the wests problems.

If you want to have a bromance with this guy, be my guest.

Putin never called me a racist. Putin never smeared me as a White supremacist. Putin never kidnapped my children to carry out genital mutilation on them while pretending to be an arbiter of morality. Putin did not inflate my currency into worthlessness. Putin did not fund the State sanctioned terrorism of Antifa / BLM and then unleash the hordes upon the honest and upright. Putin never forced homosexuality upon a people revolted by its filth and moral degeneracy. Putin never worked morning, noon and night to facilitate the demonization of me and my people as part of a slow-rolling genocide. Putin never tore down my statues, obliterated my past, or taught CRT in my schools. Putin never staged an obvious, ham fisted assassination on an Israeli blackmailer / spymaster, then covered it up with a ridiculous Keystone Kops show trial of his female henchman.

All the things that are killing me and my kind arise from the Rulers I am already inflicted with. Putin is not my enemy because he hasn’t ever done anything to harm me. Putin appears to actually lead his people, and to enact policies for their material and spiritual interests.

If you would characterize this point of view as a “bromance” I can’t stop you. But I can’t take you seriously, either.

….let’s not pretend that Putin is the answer to the wests problems.

It is not Putin the man that anybody wants. It is his Leadership qualities that people long for. As opposed to a Satanic cabal which openly hates its hapless peons, which is what we have now.

I have no idea as to the personal ethics of Mr. Putin, but I approve of his practical politics (e.g. ‘to Hell with the GloboHomo US government’).

And if anyone believes that the US government, and those Ivy Leaguers who eagerly work its levers of power, have not left ‘many bodies’ in its wake, please review the recent history of Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Syria. Or, for that matter, ask Vince Foster, Seth Rich, Edward Snowden or Julian Assange.

Don’t misunderstand my statement. I’m well aware of America’s actions in what you stated. When I first learned of the funding of Hitler’s war machine by many of the business leaders in our country (Prescott Bush, Ford’s engines, IBM’s counting machines, AT&T’s best phone system, etc) I was appalled. The bringing over of Nazi’s via Operation Paperclip, and the incursions into other countries by Dulles and the CIA, up to and including what is happening today. We have much to be angry, and ashamed by, as Americans.

All I’m saying is it appears that there are a lot of Americans that are buying into the rhetoric that Putin is a Christian and/or supports Christians and is against the NWO, etc. If we have not learned by now that there is a propaganda machine at work, not just here, but in the Russian Federation too, we are being very naïve. The dominoes are beginning to fall into place that at some point, in the not too distant future, there will be an alliance (beyond what it is now) with China and Russia to move against the west.
This is my belief, yours may be different…

” . . . in the not too distant future, there will be an alliance (beyond what it is now) with China and Russia . . .”

Circa February 4, when Putin and Xi meet in person.

“. . . with China and Russia to move against the west.”

Self defense is the fundamental right upon which all other rights are corollaries.
Have you heard of the Monroe doctrine? Do you reject the concept of local sphere of influence? Referring to the West implies you do not.

So by what principle can the US claim a sphere of influence in its own geographic yard and at the same time deny it to Russia and China? How do Russian missiles in Cuba become bad while American missiles in Poland and Ukraine become good?

How the current administration can, with a completely straight face, rant about sovereign nations and their right to make any alliances they want is beyond me.

Both Russia and China have strong and perfectly legitimate “Never Again” policies strongly felt by their people, not just their governments. Russia for Operation Barbarossa, China for The Century of Shame.

“Don’t misunderstand my statement.”

They are intent upon doing so, Brewer. The lesser of two evils = good, unmitigated awesomeness. This is how we got Trump and the “pandemic” mess that TPTB are now trying to distract from with this warmongering with Russia.

The “logic” is that because the U.S. is bad (and it is); it is therefore impossible for Not-U.S. to be anything other than good.
Or, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and my new lover, and I want to lick him.

You’re beating your head against a wall of dichotomous retardation.

While on the surface Putin seems a far superior leader of a nation then the reckless abandon full speed ahead reality buggering imbeciles handling our situation, I’m in absolute agreement with you. “They” are all there for reasons that are nearly impossible for average people to understand. “They” all have their appointed positions for reasons known only to one.

Luke 4:5-7 KJB… “And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.”

Serious answers only, please.

m, my answers are always serious. 😉
I’m going to first answer by posing a question. If a former CIA individual, one that held a high if not a director position, was running for President, would you feel comfortable with supporting that person and dismissing him from his past? Is the propaganda machine and suppression of opposing views only in America, and in Europe, but not in the Russian Federation?

Look, the truth is, at the present time, we don’t fully know what he is really about. Anyone here that says they do is not being honest. I don’t trust anyone that makes themselves leader for life as he has done.

By all the thumbs down I got on my comment it appears that I’m in a minority here with my distrust of him. He is a smart guy that knows how to play the game.

That’s only a beating-around-the-bush (or shall I say -Bush coughCIA) “answer” by you.

Look, the real truth is, Putin has been in office for 20+ years now.
At some point you might also want to start looking at things from an alternative perspective as well, which for me was a ZH comment in 2016 along “Putin has been astonishingly calm and restrained in his responses so far [for all the shit the West has thrown at him and Russia].”

Suddenly it dawned on me exactly fucking nobody would have taken that much, mostly quietly.

He’s a ruthless dictator that has left many bodies in is wake.

Irrelevant.
The Russian diplomats (and Putin) are far superior to anyone the US has in terms of managing geopolitics.
Claiming that he is a dictator and a killer also applies to every on of our “leaders” going back decades.
Mr. Mandate is not a ‘dictator’? He dictates that everyone shall be vaxxed.
He’s just not a very efficient dictator.
As for the bodies floating in the wake, he US share of those bodies is quite substantial.

The western msm has demonized Putin for yrs. He has been turned into Russia’s “Orange man bad”. Start paying attention to more reasonable international news sources and you will learn a more accurate view of him. Listen to his speeches, interviews, and actions. I am not saying he is some sort of saint, neither is DJT, But he too is a nationalist. He has denounced socialism and has openly questioned our leaning toward it. Everytime I try to talk to people about Putin I get “оранжевый человек плохой”.

It would seem that the warmongers have been checkmated for the time being but I don’t trust them and they will continue to agitate behind the scenes and we can never rule out entirely the execution of a false flag event designed to instigate a conflict.
