Whenever you suggest that the government to do ANYTHING what you are saying, whether you realize it or not, is that you do not wish to allow ANYONE to say NO.

The singers then were just like singers now, a bunch of drugged up, self entitled, hedonistic reprobates. They bucked the whole traditional family values idea. They started the path that led to where we are now.
The phone number I had as a child was a simple combination of 4 numbers and a letter, not 8 characters, including at least 1 number, 1 special character and 1 capital letter and cannot be part of my username. Also, the phone number remained the same, regardless of which phone I was using.
And you weren’t forced to keep changing your phone number – another government idea that actually makes passwords LESS secure because it forces people to write down their current password.
About 5 years before I retired, we got a new operating system that required you to change p/w every 90 days and you could not re-use a p/w for 2 years. When the trainers came in for a 1 year refresher, I told them their rules sucked and it forced everyone to write down their p/w to keep close by. He doubted me, so we went to a few terminals and sure enough, little yellow sticky notes were on almost every terminal we looked at.
I just start at !SmokinHotPussy99 and then ratchet the number down each time.

I do systems work for a few companies. If I have to log into a machine where the user is not around, about 50% of the time I find the password(s) written down on a sticky note. Stuck on the monitor, under the keyboard, in a desk drawer, or in the Rolodex.
Try keeping logged in to a government/military site! Long, complex passwords rrquired to be changed frequently. It is far easier to drive to the facility and make someone they have to pay, feed, housed, maintain a work place for and pay a retirement to do your businesses in person.
We had a party line for a while as most people in our town did. I can still remember out phone number 55 years later (give or take).
