Our neighbors don’t understand the scale of our military power compared to theirs. With all of our actual soldiers in the three different branches we amount to two or three US divisions (roughly when you exclude the paper pushers). They are well trained and skilled in what they do but our equipment is probably 20 years out of date and it’s unlikely they’ll turn on the people when the guy in the truck you’re trying to breach could be your cousin. It’s a big country but it’s a small country.
All of this makes using force (here) more complicated.
Tactics and strategies usually don’t survive contact with the enemy.
What will win the day is logistics. Something that truckers understand implicitly.

I think he may be partially right – at least about the meeting. But the government doesn’t have the resources here for that level of operation – not even with the military. And doing so would simply inspire those who feel they have nothing left to lose to join in the fray.
From the government’s end it is a logistical nightmare.

Another ‘slow role’ started at Pacific crossing last night. The push back is growing.
Francis, I drove to Farmington, Missouri, taking US 67 instead of the backroads I normally take through Amish country. I figured their gravel roads probably are not cleared for small vehicles yet because those big workhorses go where they need to go, don’t they?
Anyway, in about 25 miles of highway I saw less than ten semi-trucks. Out of curiosity I waved and honked at them as we crossed paths (they were headed south… I saw NONE headed north for all that distance.) and at least half of them honked back enthusiastically. Way cool, eh?
Went to drop off petting bunnies at the Rural King and then made a quick stop at Aldi’s and then decided to get a cart instead of just a couple bottles of CabSav and 6-pack of that Dutch beer/ale they carry.
I got a cart because I could see the shelves are emptying quickly. I filled my cart with useful things and thanked God and my husband (when I got home) for my blessings and security in these really uncertain times. A family composed of a 40ish mother with three young girls was carousing the aisles along with me and at one point she asked me “where is all the food?”
At that point, we were in the frozen food area, which was amazingly empty of ready-to-eat frozen items. (I have bought their lasagna myself in the past, but would not now, even if they had it!)
I didn’t mention anything about truckers, but suspect our own convoy is organizing. I suggested the frozen roads had slowed deliveries. I don’t think that is it, though.
Is there a way for the feds to shut down CB radios? They will if they can. The truckers have become our Committees of Correspondence and Samuel Adams would have probably sent his fortune to support their efforts on behalf of freedom loving peoples everywhere. I know I’ll continue to GiveSendGo to support the effort!

We are further into the hinterlands than you are and I agree. If I’d gone to Schnucks or Walmart, the selection might have been better. But, I like the wine and the beer, especially at their price. I bought the last two bottles of Malbec.

If our Aldis gets any emptier, we might as well stay home and eat rotated storage food. I can officially declare there are no biscuits in TN or KY, if you want some ,make them yourself. NO nothing in the canned biscuit /crescent/cinnamon roll isle either. No frozen biscuits except WalMart occasionally.
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 cup COLD lard (butter works, but cold!)
1 egg
1 cup whole milk
Mix the dry ingredients, add the lard/butter and mix until incorporated. Add the milk and mix it until it forms a ball.
knead the ingredients a minute or two. Divide into golf ball sized pieces, place on an oiled cookie sheet, pop it in the oven until done to a golden brown.
If it takes you 15minutes I’d be shocked. The difference between them and the ones that come in a roll from the grocery are hard to quantify. Once you’ve made them a few times you don’t even need to measure anymore, you just know.
Let all that commercially processed crap disappear, no one is going to be sicker because of it.
I use butter but grate it into the dry ingredients. It makes an amazing biscuit!
If you don’t want to do it by scratch, or loose electricity, you can buy Auguson farms biscuit/scone mix in long term storage #10 cans for under 10$, or a box of bisquick for 5$. Its odd that way up here in Idaho next to the Canada border, our stores are stocked, and most of the population here has more than the stores too.

Another bridge linking Canada to Michigan is the Blue Water Bridge, between Sarnia, Ontario and Port Huron, Michigan.
At the southern end of Lake Huron, the flow turns into the St. Clair River, which flows farther south into Lake St. Clair, which then feeds the Detroit River.
Just west / south of Belle Isle, in the middle of the Detroit River lies The Ambassador Bridge linking
Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
During drive time today, the freeway signs in Michigan told truckers that the Ambassador Bridge was closed due to the Canadian side getting blocked, and trucks would have to re-route to the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron to Sarnia.
That is HORRIBLY inconvenient, and a major time delay of at least 2 hours. Oh, well.
Two more points.
There is a tunnel that goes underneath the Detroit River, from downtown Detroit into Windsor, but
I don’t believe the big rigs are allowed through that, or they are just too tall in height? Not sure.
All along that route, from Lake Huron-St. Clair River-Lake St. Clair-Detroit River-Lake Erie…
gets these big boys trying to take the same route that the Edmund Fitz was going, just a little too late in the season, as Gordy sang.
Scope it out on a map, but The Fitz never made it to the east end of Superior, to go under the
Mackinac Bridge, and into Lake Huron that fateful November evening.

According to a poll, the truckers, if they were to have their own party, have so much public support, that they would be the largest, most supported party in the country. And unlike the supposedly free US, they can actually get a party up and running and in power quite quickly. Anyone wanting to understand how horrible and unfree the process is in the US, go to ballot-access.org.
It doesn’t matter in Canada. Unless you win ridings in southern Ontario and Montreal and Quebec City, you don’t meet the requirements to form a government. Without an electoral college in Canada, our political parties really only need to focus on Toronto and Quebec and can expect to win any federal election, and Trudeau proved that in the last election with literally the fewest number of votes in crucial ridings needed to win, and that’s what his team did.
Kinda like Joe Biden don’t you think? Biden got more votes than Obama, Trump or Reagan? Srsly?
