As his approval rating plunged below 40 for the first time – and is now significantly below that of President Trump at this time in his term – President Biden knew he had to come out and address the fact that despite all his promises, the average American is facing prices on consumer goods rising at their fastest in 40 years.
In a statement from The White House, the president blames the pandemic, says he has lots of tools, empathizes with ‘real stress at the kitchen table’, and then tells a giant fib about wages…
My two top economic priorities have been to create a growing economy with more good-paying jobs, and to lower the prices Americans have faced from the global problem of inflation related to the pandemic. We have seen historic success on the first priority, with the greatest year of job growth in history, Americans finding better jobs, better wages, and better benefits, along with the fastest economic growth in decades. On higher prices, we have been using every tool at our disposal, and while today is a reminder that Americans’ budgets are being stretched in ways that create real stress at the kitchen table, there are also signs that we will make it through this challenge.
While today’s report is elevated, forecasters continue to project inflation easing substantially by the end of 2022. And fortunately we saw positive real wage growth last month, and moderation in auto prices, which have made up about a quarter of headline inflation over the last year. We separately saw good news with new unemployment claims continuing to decline. That’s a sign of the real progress we’ve made in getting Americans back to work over the last year.
My administration will continue to be all hands on deck to win this fight. We will continue to rebuild our infrastructure and manufacturing, so we can make more in America and strengthen our supply chains here at home. We will continue to fight for costs in areas that have held back families and working people for decades, from prescription drugs to child care and elder care to their energy costs. And we will continue to promote more competition to make our markets more competitive and give consumers more choices.
The problem is – that is a lie!
Auto prices did anything but moderate…
And Real wages are down for 10 straight months on a year-over-year basis…
… but we thought ‘disinformation’ was terrorism now?
Perhaps that is why Biden’s current approval rating is below that of Trump’s current approval rating also?

At least he’s telling the truth.
Why do we keep calling this shill, i.e., biden a president. If you believe the election was a fraud then he was installed and not elected. Now, who is running this country and/or game?
I refuse to call him “president” and I refuse to call that cocksucker “vice president.” As far as I’m concerned, the top two offices are vacant.
It’s a title with a universally understood meaning. Fraudulent or not, he is the current title-holder. It is a matter of convenience that allows people to hold conversations about current events, and not a token of implied legitimacy.
Installed or elected, he currently holds the office. People who saw the fraud already know, and those who refuse to see will not be swayed by “not my President!” rhetoric in the same way Trump’s supporters were not swayed.
While I agree he was installed through massive election fraud, whether or not Biden is referred to as the President isn’t likely to move the conversation forward.
Recommend doing an exhaustive review of AP and Fleabags’ posts on this website, as they will answer this question in thorough, documented fashion.
Presidents are elected by the Electoral College. He had the most electoral votes. That’s why he’s living in the White House. The fact that they had to cheat to get those EV’s is immaterial at this point. It’s like complaining about offensive holding in the Super Bowl. Daley won the 1960 election for JFK, too. Cheating is easier for the party that controls the cities. You can’t stuff enough ballots in rural areas.
What bothers me is that all workers think they are entitled to wage increases commensurate with the rise in cost of living.
The fact is some prices commend more demand then others. Trying to pass on food prices to make the same profit margin in the hospitality industry won’t fly for most places.
Similarly, service workers are going to have to suffer a lowering of their standard of living.
So being the contrarians most of us say we are……..a shit storm is brewing.
Not A shit storm. A bunch of them. Brandon is going to start a war with Russia, and we’re on the cusp of a major injections die off. Inflation, that’s a pain, but compared to what’s coming, not the problem it would otherwise be.
“we’re on the cusp of a major injections die off.”
Promises, promises. I want to see some results.
Restaurants will start dropping like skeeters in a DDT cloud
I’ve seen those at Aldi’s months ago.
In CA, they just let the store owners record their losses for the day/month!
Let’s Go Brandon.
My rule of thumb has been that annual true inflation was 7% annually since Nixon closed the Gold window, and 9% since the 2008 GFC.
I would be very surprised, after this orgy of “Corona-caused” money printing/issuing, if inflation would peak at only 15% now.
Love John Williams of shadowstats.
Only thing he forgot to mention? ‘The amazing benefits of having a second passport if you are a smart, single female who ‘unexpectedly’ got pregnant…’
Is that you biden?
That fucker who has never had a job using the word “tool” again. The only tool he is aware of is in his mirror. Correction, FUCKING TOOL!!!
Inflation is bad if you don’t own assets and good if you do. Monetary policy favors the cloud people over the dirt people. That’s why I doubt the Fed will raise rates as much as they say they’re going to. They need to support nominal stock gains – at least until the cloud people sell or hedge off that risk.
Inflation is always bad unless you are a cloud person that can afford to absorb it and are using it to intentionally crush the dirt people.
If it gets high enough it could cause the dirt people to riot.
