Ukraine Crisis: A Nightmare Caused by US Interventionism

Guest Post by Ron Paul

The neocons strike back?

Over the weekend we heard that the US is evacuating its embassy in Kiev for fear of a Russian invasion. We also heard that Russia is evacuating its embassy in Kiev for fear of a US-backed provocation in eastern Ukraine that may lead to a Russian military response.

We are in “uncharted territory” the media tells us. Yes, that is true. But it is uncharted because no one had ever imagined in the past that the US government would be so foolish to risk a thermonuclear war over the borders of a country – Ukraine – that have changed so many times over the past century.

An urgent Biden-Putin phone call on Saturday did not lead to any breakthrough – as if anyone thought it would. Instead, it provided cover for Biden Administration hawks to claim they tried every diplomatic approach, but war seems to be the only option.

But this whole thing is a farce. As I see it, here is the Ukraine crisis in a nutshell:

Biden to Putin: “Don’t invade Ukraine.”

Putin to Biden: “We have no intention of invading Ukraine.”

Biden to the US media: “Putin is about to invade Ukraine!”

Then Biden’s top officials proceed to embarrass themselves by warning that the invasion was imminent. Or it’s coming next Tuesday, or Wednesday, or surely before the end of the Olympics. Does anyone think they have any credibility left with their constant hysterical warnings?

Meanwhile “US intelligence” continues to leak incendiary information – likely self-serving – to a US media that has lost any interest in skepticism toward any “scoop” handed down by US government officials.

What the US media will not report is that this entire crisis – and the threat of a serious war – has all been brought about by US interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine, specifically the US-backed coup that overthrew an elected government in 2014. Every bit of unrest in Ukraine proceeded from that single foolish and immoral act by the Obama Administration.

That is why we are non-interventionist. The philosophy of non-interventionism is one very good piece of insurance protecting us from needless war. If you don’t meddle in the affairs of foreign countries, there is less chance of being dragged into an unnecessary war.

Ukraine is a great example of why non-interventionism is the only pro-America foreign policy. We are risking nuclear war with Russia over what? Ukraine’s borders? Surely most Americans see how idiotic this is.

The Biden Administration is at present shell-shocked that the Russian government did not back down over plans to expand NATO to Ukraine. Russia understandably views NATO membership for Ukraine -with its Article 5 guarantees – to be an unacceptable threat considering the ongoing border disputes.

This is not our fight, yet Biden’s foreign policy team has decided it’s a great time to kick the hornet’s nest.

Is it all about Biden’s dismal approval ratings? What a sick thing to risk a major war over. We need to stand up and say “enough.” Before it’s too late.

Is it all about Biden’s dismal approval ratings?

NO… It is ALL about hiding the criminality of those traitorous politicals and operatives, like mittens, clinton, bidens, cheny, bush and a host of others in the sewer that have laundered money thru Ukraine… THATS what this is about….

When you are an amorale psychopathic thief you could care less about polls.

Could not agree more on that!

It’s interesting from one “administration” to the next how people blame each one for this and the other. Biden is a prude.

Listening to just five minutes of prerecorded Hannity on radio in my pickup yesterday after performing some routine maintenance , Hannity had some “economist” of whom Hannity thinks is an “ok” dude. Anyway, I think Hannity’s ego was somewhat deflated after making a comment about “Biden’s inflation”. The economic dude simply replied one cannot put the blame entirely on Biden, events of the past have led to this inflationary period. Hannity…crickets on that comment.

Agreed. The seeds of this inflation have been planted since even before 9/11. Clinton administration had so much tax revenue it went crazy. “W” continued with expansion of welfare to free cell phones and including retired illegal aliens in Social Security benefits plus cutting the estate tax. Every administration has operated a deficit that would put normal people into bankruptcy and poverty.

The first (under Trump) giant handout exacerbated the problem we already had. (At least Trump gave retirees a break with the waiver of RMD for the year.) The subsequent handouts and bonus unemployment pretty much assured some kind of bump in inflation. $15k debit cards handed out to over a million illegal aliens certainly didn’t help.

Our “interest only” loans will have a huge balloon principle payment due–and we can’t pay it or even roll it over. Even before that, when the Fed finally decides to stop supporting the stock market and raises interest rates, we’ll find we can no longer sell bonds and existing bond holders are going to have huge losses trying to unload bonds they bought with a 2% yield in a 10% market.

Growl, grrrr, its the democrats. Growl , grrrr, it’s the republicans. Kidding, yet sick of the pointing fingers crap.

Pulled up this article. I know nothing about the site, perhaps considered a flaming libtard site by some, don’t know. What caught my attention however was objectivity as to inflation today here:
The many factors contributing to inflation mean we can’t blame any single institution or political party. The $4 trillion federal government spending during the Trump administration allowed individuals and businesses to keep buying goods and services, which propped up
prices.

And here: The $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan passed during the Biden administration added to upward pressure on prices, but likely much less than energy price increases, specific shortages and labor supply reductions. The latter two were related to the pandemic itself rather than specific policies.

Long winded, basically Hannity and his “Biden’s inflation” is FOS.

Interesting comment about “W”. Raising cattle at the time of “W”, a neighbor that voted “against” Obama both times, “against” Hillary and “against” Biden told me she had never received as much in USDA subsidies as when “W” was in office. I’m confused what that says about “fiscal conservatism” as it sure tricked me once upon a time.

I hear you . Listening to Hannity by no means is a regular habit. It’s scanning the limited radio stations here that stopped on Hannity. I’m limited being in the sticks to radio “entertainment value”. The “rock” stations I pick up on radio, the oldies stuff, 70’s, Led Zeplin, Jethro Tull, etc. , man, I simply cannot relate anymore and question myself how I listened to that stuff “back then”(younger me). Not saying all of the rock groups during that time period or before, simply , I cannot relate generally speaking.

At any rate ,one radio program I’ve listened to some is Free Talk Live. Since I only drive my pickup 400 miles per month +- max, it’s hit and miss I will be driving to town when FTL airs here being late afternoons on Saturdays. I quit Dennis Prager, Larry Elder, Screaming Mark Levin, even Rush Limbaugh long ago.

All Putin has to do is wait this out, the longer he waits the colder Europe becomes, the colder they get, the more upset the people will be with their governments, this situation with the WH and the media spouting war is IMMINENT day after day after day…… Putin is smart to remain quiet and do nothing.
This plus the covid narrative disintegrating will hasten the loss of confidence in government and media, along with science.

There is no crisis in Ukraine. Biden is trying to create a crisis, by lying about the situation in a feeble attempt to divert attention away from his failures and consistently falling poll numbers. He is failing so miserably as President, that he believes only a major war will distract the public enough to prevent him dragging the entire Democratic down party with him…

Illegal immigration, followed by the worst inflation since the 70’s. Try to get elected as a Democrat with those issues in your face. Any distraction is what the Dems need. Trick is keeping it going until November.

I’m sure Putin knows that invading Ukraine can only turn out badly for Russia. Just the threat of it has NATO gearing up and even the usual slackers are spending more than ever before on their military capabilities. Russia is not the Soviet Union any more. 11th in GDP behind India, France, Italy, Canada, and South Korea, and barely above Brazil, Russia cannot afford a major war.

It’s too bad the Democrats gutted our energy industry. We could have reassured Europe of an energy source in the event they had to cut off Russia (and increased our own export revenue at the same time.)

You can’t compare Russia’s self sufficient economy with those examples on a GDP basis. That is worse than apples and oranges.

Thing is, not to get in a knock down drag out debate, big problem is hypocrisy. Oil prices are up, so what’s the problem? I say this knowing quite a number of people in the industry that believed whatever the previous administration “promised” them then, oh my goodness, the pissing, moaning and groaning when oil prices dropped to $25. Just saying.

Reminds me of a cop who’s beating the crap out of you and when you defend yourself starts crying “assault on a peace officer”. Also found interesting that the governments of turkey and israel have deep connections in ukraine.

What is really going on with Ukraine.

First, accuse Putin of doing something he is never going to.

Lets call it a made up crisis.

Second, tell the world you will strongly respond to the made up crisis.

Third, tell the world the exact day when the made up crisis is supposed to happen.

Then, when the made up crisis dose not happen it is because the USA is so great they have outmaneuvered and beaten the Russians.

Declare absolute and total victory and retire to bask in your own glory.
