The same guy controlled bigPharma even back then:
I have one of those revolvers.
SIX BUCKS!
Nothing like old ads to demonstrate the devaluation of the dollar—due to the Fed
I grew up bicycle distance from the very 1st one in Des Plaines, IL.
Cheeseburgers were only 15 cents. Openned 4-15-55.
I can remember when I bought a McDonald’s Cheeseburger, Fries, and a Coke for less than a Dollar in the 1960’s!!!!
They advertised it that way, and promised you change back for your dollar.
I had the Daisy Pump Action BB Gun.
And you were the remote
WHAT THE HECK IS THAT! I don’t blame those kids one bit for trying to get away.
The one on the left might be kind of trying to muster a smile through the horror. The baby is like NFW. Thanks Easter Bunny (?).
Captain Kangaroo, anyone?
Yes.
I remember the bare feet. I could just about walk on broken glass by the end of the summer!!
Had one of those.
Ahhh-not a helmet or pad to be found….jus’ kids havin’ fun
Collies were one of the most popular dog breeds thanks to Lassie.
I remember medical doctors doing cigarette commercials back in the ’50s …
Dad smoked Camels. With no Filters.
Same here; Mom smoked Kools.
Did the camels object? They can be ornery critters! 🙂
Dad smoked Pall Malls in the red pack. No filters either.
Arthur Godfrey with a smile.
It is 8 decades for those of us born in the 50’s & 9 for the 40’s
Agree, I’m counting 9 decade notches on my gun so far…and decades are getting more liberal and FUBAR by the year. It’s past time for Humanity to do a Great Reset: a Global Purge of the NWO Establishment, before they can complete their own 99% Global dePopulation Plan on us “Deplorables”.
Only the 90s don’t count, really, so we skip that one in the tally.
Teeter totters, those were the days. Bumps, anyone?
What a innocent time……..sigh.
With daughters that pretty one could understand the mother’s worried look. Guessing the hem lines are at least 8″ below the knees.

What’s the chance he could survive a pass through most neighborhoods today without being robbed by Amish bandits?
Gasp!!! NO HELMETS!!! How did they ever survive?!?!
I remember buying cigarettes at the corner smoke shop … Canadian cigarettes were 16¢ a pack … I was 14 years old. Never had a problem buying them …
The kid who gave me my first cigarette was someone I had gone to K-5 with … then we met up again in high school (9-12). His family were in the mortuary business …
I had a part time job working for a vendor, and would fill cigarette, candy, and pop machines located at local businesses
Yes!!! I used to load those.
Yes. Vending machine cigarettes. No ID required.
a quarter each
I went to Sock Hops. I also remember playing Pitch and Spades with family and friends. There WERE the good old days!!!
Learned pitch from gramma in the 70s at a penny a point
Cribbage, Monopoly, canasta all day long on rainy days.

The wolfman made it into my senior yearbook.
1976 Yokota AFB- I lived near there (off base) in a place called Bel Air Plaza. Knew a couple of kids who went to the high school- Keith Royal and Greg Annette.
Thank you for posting these. Love this series. Saw every one of those 80s movies.
That kid jumping the barrels, that was us.
From the looks of it, he ain’t gonna make it. Gonna get dinged up and when he goes home, mom is gonna put some “monkey blood”(Mercurochrome) on it and tell him to be more careful. Then he’ll have a war wound to talk about for a long time. Chicks dig scars.
