Vladimir Putin gave a speech in which he blamed the ‘western ruling elite’ for creating the economic hardships impacting people in Europe and the United States.
During a speech that was broadcast live on Russian television, the Kremlin frontman also slammed Russian oligarchs fleeing to Israel as a “fifth column” of “national traitors” who see themselves as a “superior race” and “cannot make do without foie gras, oysters or gender freedom as they call it.”
“Any nation, and even more so the Russian people, will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors and will simply spit them out like an insect in their mouth, spit them onto the pavement,” Putin ranted.
“I am convinced that a natural and necessary self-detoxification of society like this would strengthen our country, our solidarity and cohesion and our readiness to respond to any challenge,” he added.
The Russian president also directly addressed westerners who are being told by the legacy media that skyrocketing gas prices and other economic hardships are purely to blame on Putin.
“I want ordinary Western people hear me, too,” Putin said.
“You are being persistently told that your current difficulties are the result of Russia’s hostile actions and that you have to pay for the efforts to counter the alleged Russian threat from your own pockets. All of that is a lie.”
“The truth is that the problems faced by millions of people in the West are the result of many years of actions by the ruling elite of your respective countries, their mistakes, and short-sighted policies and ambitions. This elite is not thinking about how to improve the lives of their citizens in Western countries. They are obsessed with their own self-serving interests and super profits.”
No doubt that very same elite will now cite Putin’s criticism of them as reason to assert they have the moral high ground.
Putin is now so roundly vilified, he is turning into some kind of mythical Emmanuel Goldstein figure onto which every crisis and catastrophe can be pinned by the regime.

I read the whole speech (official translation) and couldn’t find anything hinting at Russian oligarchs fleeing to Israel.
But if that is truly happening, the better for Russia.
It’s a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma…
Of course unless we have someone who is fluent in Russian it doesn’t mean a whole lot. He could be saying anything.
You don’t think taking the (official) speech in Russian, running it (paragraph-wise) through competing translation engines of Google and Yandex, and then comparing the results with each other, and with the official translation, is a feasible way to validate it?
And about the question if the officially published speech (in Russian) is equal to what he really said in the television broadcast, even my current clunky Russian should be good enough to validate that, if you’re interested and did the first exercise.

How do you think I wound up here? I’ve been discarding everything I ever believed in my life for over a quarter of a century now so there aren’t many narratives left for me.
That said I’d love it to be true, but I don’t speak Russian and I definitely don’t trust Google. Not to mention the ties between Putin and the WEF which any reasonable person should consider a red flag no matter what appears to be taking place.

Putin said nothing of fleeing. He is not afraid of a few oligarchs, no matter how rich they are or what religion they pretend to follow.
He pointed at the regular people in Russia, some of which want to belong to the self-declared superior caste of materialistic Wokeism.

It is already clear how this plays out, from a philosophical/religious standpoint.
Either “the West” successfully atomizes the Russian society and Russia collapses from the inside [too], no matter how mighty their military is. Or Putin succeeds in protecting his society, based on Christian roots.
I put my money on the latter, because Putin understands very well what is at stake and he has prepared for years for the -because of the West’s ‘perfectist’ stupidity- unavoidable clash.

From looking at the maps the Russians are doing a slow but steady classic pincer move. Looks like they are going to take about two thirds of the country and leave a bit for Ukraine with no military left.
