Those pictures of kids with the Easter Bunny show me exactly why my great-granddaughter is terrified of him.
From some of the pictures I was wondering if it used to be celebrated as so kind of horror initiation.
This was the good old days on Easter:
Not some rabbit.
Preach Scot!!!
Not just the good old days – In my house we still celebrate activities during Holy week Thursday, Good Friday and commemorate the resurrection of Christ on Easter – and always will!
When I was in high school, I remember the KFC 5 piece being under $5.00 (late 70s).
And one thing for sure…no matter how creepy those Easter rabbits are, they are nowhere near as creepy as the thought of what is allowed to teach kids these days talking to them about their personal sex lives, sexual orientation, gender fluidity, etc. Leave the bunnies alone, but throw those teachers into the woodchipper.
Look where sex education went.
Easter themed PEZ candy dispensers are still available, but cost $2 bucks now, instead of a quarter.
Sea monkeys?
Not so much, if at all.
Some enlisted navy swabees sporting afros on their melons prolly got offended by the unintended slur, pitched a bitch about it to the brass, and the kiddies were denied another fun project.
To be fair, they were a fraudulent product to begin with. Pictures of undersea creatures called sea monkeys with freeze dried brine shrimp pouring out into a bowl of water like sand. But it did teach the valuable lesson about disappointment and cons.
Pick the most appropriate:
Props on the Goat (GTO) on the assembly line and the 65-66 Super Sport Impala. Just this week somebody is advertising a 65 Galaxy Convertible in our local Craigslist. $25,500. If I only had the money!!!
Every once in awhile I’ll look on Autotrader classic to check out prices on stuff that I want like say a 70 Vette. Damn, ouch. My favorite was the 66 2nd generation Stingray and they are now totally out of reach these days especially since I’m so fed up with working and not wanting to spend money on a toy.
I’m technically a late boomer from 61 but don’t relate to the generation. Nor do I really relate to X. I’m curious as to why the pics from this series are considered gen x as they are from my childhood
I too remember when everyone in America was White.
Nowadays you have to watch Leave it to Beaver reruns to see it.
I even saw a home care company ad where black mom is comforted by her black daughter and then the camera pans around the table o ly to finish at the last second with white dad. Seriously? Even these people?
Watching TV now, you’d think every family was Black inter-racial and the only kind of “music” was rap-a-crap.
weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!
Ah secularism and materialism. It all seemed so innocent at first.
