I found the entire documentary fascinating, since I was absolutely clueless about the existence of all of these blended synthetic drugs, including horse tranquilizers!

But, what is particularly sinister is the fact that Donald Trump had actually stopped China’s export of fentanyl into Mexico and Biden has reversed that policy, embracing the flow of fentanyl and other toxic substances into our country via the southern border.

If you do not realize the powers that be want a doped and submissive populace to do with what they will, you don’t realize Biden’s purpose in the scheme.

The clip about what happened when Trump demanded an end to fentanyl imports starts around the 27 minute part.

sigh …dope cooked in a 55 gallon Monsanto toxic chemical drum out back in the mesquite grove still hasn’t killed as many people and Big Pharma and Big Ag. …matter of fact, not even in the same ballpark.

“About 2,460 people per week are estimated to die from drugs that were properly prescribed, and that’s based on detailed chart reviews of hospitalized patients,”

It isn’t so much the deaths from the dope which concern me most; I’m cynical enough to believe if you are buying this chemical crap you get what you play for.

It is the complete loss of humanity involved coupled with the willingness to do whatever it takes to get that dope.

Historically, people with mental issues will self medicate. There is no solution, but government can close the borders and stop most of the trafficking, while creating avenues wherein clean dope can be had. Every issue government involves itself in turns to worse, and drugs are no different.

My heart has bled all it can bleed over self-inflicted stupid. There is no cure.

I have a nephew in prison whose first victim was my son. Eventually, that destroyed my relationship with all my siblings, who were intent on ignoring the young (then) boy’s psychotic behavior.

The saddest part of all is that his mother did drugs throughout her pregnancy and around him until her own death from drunken and drugged driving.

He never had a chance and it is my male sibling’s fault for allowing it to happen.

American freedom was designed for a select group of aristcocrats, businesspeople, and high-moral farmers.

Mark Laitta has been interviewing addicts and street people for a few years, but has gotten really intense in documenting the origin stories of the addicts on the street.

His work is like a train wreck; it is hard to look away.

I have watched many of his videos. Your description comparing to a train wreck is spot on. His description of a crash course in empathy is also spot on.

Looking at this lovely and (still) innocent girl, realizing she has almost no hope to escape the life her mother has entwined her makes me want to reach out and help.

But, it is already a year later and I am tempted to guess her life is the same or worse.

The long march of Marxist doctrine through our institutions has reached the pay off point. A thoroughly demoralized population, broken families, a loss of religious underpinnings, etc. A dumbed down society where nothing makes sense and hopes, aspirations and dreams are discarded because they are illusory or unobtainable concepts.
Today’s goal for half the society: momentarily finding escape in another dreary day of a sick society…….what a wonderful life.
Gut wrenching sadness is everywhere that is going to get worse, much worse.

Drug abuse is a symptom. Self ownership means that you have the right to put or not put into your own body whatever you want so long as you harm no one or their property while under the influence. If there were real freedom, users would be able to purchase quality controlled products from reputable manufacturers who produced their products in proper facilities, etc. When one is forced to deal with criminals, worse things happen. As always, the government makes problems worse than they need to be.

I was going to make a comment that the underlying problem is the complete lack of the expectation of self-control. I completely understand that there is a terrible physical impact of withdrawal which makes the desire to “use” almost overwhelming*, but why these addicts do not grasp the help offered to them by people who devote their lives to trying to help others like themselves and by people like Mark Liatta from Soft White Underbelly eludes me.

However, Mark has helped several people better themselves and maybe I’ll see this little girl in an upbeat update from him soon. I think I’ll ask him.

But the great majority of them refuse to get help, saying they are just “not ready” to stop using, yet.

Yet.

*I speak from experience, having had many surgeries and used way too many prescribed pain pills for way too long after each. However, deciding to stop using them was step one. Taking the responsibility to actually stop with my doctor’s help was step two. I’m at step three and staying on track.

Except that it isn’t! The more people who die from addiction/overdose, the more who are drawn to the life of dependency and squalor.

It is a self-replicating problem.
