The lumber mill down the highway is overflowing in raw and finished lumber, unfortunately they have no retail business.
Not if it is a big company. When I built my house, I reached out to a customer who owns a family run mill. I was able to buy a truckload of dimensional lumber as long as I bought a bundle of each. I had room left after filling the build sheet of the contractor and he told me to get a bundle of 10’ 2×4’s. The framers went through them like Sherman marching to the sea.
I saved about 40% off of retail price, plus there was no 9.75% sales tax as the mill did not handle retail sales.
They might deal with you, but only by the bundle. If you had a contact, it would be a lot easier.

There is a roof and floor joist plant by my house thier yard is basically empty, usually full of orders to ship and they haven’t been running a second shift.

I have seen mark post a lot of pictures of fires that only hit specific houses in a neighborhood I’m sure these weapons are floating overhead and we know our benevolent government would not hesitate to use them to advance their agenda.
I have no clue about all these different building materials, sheathing and framing etc., but it does sound like they are picking not the highest quality materials but rather whatever is available or whatever is cheap.
I was always told to never buy a house built in the 1970s due to bad workmanship. Best decade supposedly the 1950s or early 60s. I like newer houses due to lack of lead pain, 1990s or first decade of the 2000s. (Our house was built in 1926…).
I bet future generations, if any houses will still be standing, will shun houses built in the 2020s.
Actually, OSB is a good product to use for sheathing and roof decking. It is cheaper to make than plywood. OSB definitely does not perform well when it gets wet, but under siding, brick or shingles it is up to the task.
I like European style houses made entirely out of cement blocks. They use these humongous ones now, multiple feet in diameter, hoisted with cranes. Not like the small brick ones that the masons used to build walls when I observed them as a kid.
I built my raised bed out of 8”x16”x4” cement blocks because they were cheaper than wood and they will never rot. My wife did not like the way it looked, so I had to clad it in 1×6 fence boards. An extra $150 just to keep peace in the house, but it does look a whole lot better.
To my brother from another mother – OSB is not as good as plywood, but it is adequate for sheathing and decking. If you keep it dry, it should last a long time. I do not have it on my house, but if we did, it would outlast us.

30 + years has taught me well,do love the Grace in rolls for window/door installation though!
On a side note,all me nails stainless,the new nails galvanized rust even in so called dry walls,tis a shame,hence all nails,inside or out stainless.
I have galvanized from me dad that are like a lava coating,a real mans nail!

I will say if you use osb(oriented snot board)just fucking retire!
You use finger jointed trim either exterior or interior,just fucking retire!
You do not remove immediately from exterior door units(finger joint) and replace with solid cedar/clear pine ect. just fucking retire.
You use all of these inferior products while building,well…..just fucking kill your self!

The destruction of food processing plants, egg producers, lumber mills, power generation, fossil fuels, hard not to believe that there is a coordinated effort to destroy America and the western world and culture.
Now the question that you will likely never get an answer to is this; is it organic or is it part of the globalist strategy.
There are an awful lot of peoplein the world that absolutely hate America. They probably don’t see a whole lot of difference between the government and the country and even one with an extremely low IQ understands that there is no desire to keep anyone out who wants in and there’s a wide open border they can easily cross. I imagine that a lot of the things that happen are a fair mix of both. The people running the show don’t want to let people know just how little control they have of the situation, nor that their feared panopticon is just a Wizard of Oz style con job. So you get this hybrid war on the Amrican people fueld by justifiable hatred of the people we’ve sytematically terrorized for decades on end as well as the clandestine operations of a rogue occupation government bent on eliminating the Founder’s posterity.
Of course it all assumes that the American people just lay back and enjoy it.
Guess we’ll see.

Most trim these days is MDF if it is going to be painted.
My son had his roof replaced last year and insurance demanded the installation of OSB over the 1×8 decking on his house.
