I tried to talk to a few growing-ups to just consider the possibility, that going into huge debt for a college “degree” might not be the best idea.
Might as well talked to a wall.
A lot of parents are terrified at the thought of advising their kid against college. They are so sold on the idea of conveyor belt education and they can’t shake it. It’s too ingrained in their belief system.
Regardless those that may or may not agree with a college “education”, it will be a chore IMO convincing people not to attend college as it has been deeply ingrained in earnest since about 1970 that I recall. Supposedly the “road to success” is a college degree. I’ve mentioned the hardware store owner, a republican, and wife, a high school counselor…ultra much emphasis to high schoolers to get that degree.

The problem with the phrasing is the implication that taxes were ever supposed to be “yours”. Is there anyone around retarded enough to still believe that taxes aren’t theft? Maybe two hundred years ago taxes actually was something about contributing to your country, now they’re literal robbery by the criminal gang in charge. Anything resembling them “giving back to society” (giving back what they stole, funny concept that) is simply buying votes with an extra kickback for cronies.
They pay for cops because cops protect them from you. They pay some infrastructure because their cronies take commissions and those working won’t rebel. They pay for programs to straight up buy votes.
You don’t “pay” taxes, you get robbed constantly.

I listen to Gun Talk occasionally hosted by Tom Gresham. On one show I recall Tom stating police are not obligated to protect “you”. He gave some “statute” or whatever as to why with his emphasis being arm oneself because thinking law enforcement will be around when needed is setting oneself up for false “security”. Listeners that one might think got the message were calling in asking Tom how he arrived at such a comment. I understand it perfectly.
On a more local note, when a city council of a town less than 4000 is promoting a SWAT team and trying to present ideas as to how to finance a SWAT team , being republicans at that, beware is all I can advise. I think the Patriot Act set the tone for militarized law enforcement on steroids. The city council became interested in this SWAT thing when the BLM was burning things up the last couple of Trump years. And talk about knee jerk. Someone in town had read on FB that several buses with about 250 BLMers were headed for the town and they planned a “rally” at the local Wal Mart. The Wal Mart shutdown ahead of time and actually boarded off the main entry into the building. The towns people anxiously waited for the proposed rally at 6PM that day. They showed up alright, all 11 (eleven) of them and no busses. Yep, what the town needs is a SWAT team. smh
Everybody should pay college debt. Oh, they are.
I don’t think that the taxpayers will really be paying for this. They will just run the cash printing press in the back room for a little wile longer and “voila”, it’s all paid.
Anyone here “taking” SS? Anyone work 45+ years before “taking” it? Well, we freeloading older folks that paid into the program for 45+ years are supposed to receive in the neighborhood of a 9.6% “raise” in 2023. Yahoo. BTW, “Read my lips. No new taxes.” And people may ask why I cannot place yard signs promoting republicans in “elections”? You won’t find any promoting democrats either.
Everyone using dollars will be paying for it one way or the other. That is how inflation works. It is the hidden tax and is unavoidable when the currency you are forced to use is being devalued.
