When a servicemember dies from a heart attack, the Army now classifies that death under “natural causes.”

A lot of ‘natural causes’ are killing young people. What is ‘natural’ about dying so young while seemingly in good health.
It’s a natural response to a dose of poison.

I’m so old I remember when “natural causes” was a euphemism for “old age”, because other old people didn’t like being reminded that they were on death’s doorstep, as in “he died because he was older than dirt.”
He is either an active duty Army Ranger or he is a member of the 101st, he can’t be both at the same time.
Perhaps they meant that he qualified as a Ranger previously and is now serving in the 101st.
We lost about 30 guys while I was in my unit, mostly combat/jump deaths and a couple training exercise fatalities, but only one guy died of “natural causes” (heat stroke during basic, but that was almost certainly a manslaughter because they refused to treat him so he’d toughen up. He didn’t.)
Airborne infantry isn’t the safest job on Earth, but risk is part of the deal. Embrace the suck or get out.

To volunteer to serve opens one’s self up to submission to command. Those are the terms.
A LTC is a commissioned officer and can resign at any time.
Yup. I know a few that took the discharge, but not many.
I made them hunt me down and and threaten NJP for my second Anthrax booster. Right after that SCOTUS saved me from getting the 3rd. It was the same story for their experimental nasal flu vax that later required extensive sinus surgery.
People forget commissioned officers can resign any time after their education obligations are met (if they have them from service academies or ROTC scholarships). All the good ones I know did.

Funny story, I was one of the few Americans without the shot in country during the closing months of AFG. I know cuz they–illegally–kept a list and kept harassing me. I’ve talked to plenty of young rangers reporting heart palpitations and saying they would never have taken the shot had it not been a deployment requirement. How’s that for informed consent absent coercion?
