Thanks, CC! I’ve been hanging around a lot since my hip surgery last week. Not much I can do but get up and walk around (with a walker), do some exercises, go back and sit down for a while, rinse, repeat.
It won’t take long. My wifes soon to be 99 in Dec, fell and broke her hip about six weeks ago. She’s puttering around and hrumphs at people who say she shouldn’t be doing certain things.

Regretting that now, as that hip often feels “ funny” and weak, causing me to stumble when stepping off a curb 6 weeks ago. Broke three ribs that time. So good for you for doing your exercises….we’ve gotta keep ourselves strong.

the best way to strengthen the bones is weight lifting. research it. I have “falls” sometimes living in N Idaho on ice, and only get bruises, but I weight lift 3 times a week, 6 months out of a year for about 30 years now.
I was having pain in my right knee to the point it was waking me at night (OMS, Older Man Syndrome). I have osteoarthritis. I decided to see an orthopedic but by the time I got the appointment the pain had vanished. I can still tell its there but not like it was. I’m prescribed Meloxicam by my family physician but really try to limit the intake. The orthopedic said take it daily as the only alternatives are some kind of steroid shot that won’t last forever or knee replacement which I’m not quite at that point.
In the waiting room I gave much thought to how much more healthy I am after observing some of the people in the room, actually a lot of people, perhaps 40 waiting to see the various specialists in the clinic. People hobbling around , using walkers, canes, or hunched over with osteoarthritis or perhaps rheumatoid arthritis.
I hear knees are much more tricky than hips.

Not having surgery anytime soon. The knee replacements seem to be quite common though among those within the OMS.
My Mom had hip replacements last year and she stayed for 4 weeks in the in-patient rehab facility, including daily hydrotherapy, yoga, physical therapy and three excellent meals per day at $0 total out of pocket cost. Socialized medicine for you.
