I read somewhere once, in the early years of their careers, Glenn Frey was in the same living complex out west with Jackson Browne. Frey said to keep your eyes on JB, as his work is very promising.
I like how his band is tight, with their skills. Frequently hear crisp talent with their timing and instruments. Always good, meaningful lyrics.
If not mistaken, him and Darryl Hannah were once an item. Wonder whatever happened to her?
Here’s a few of my faves:

It’s better than Rush.
Sometimes you feel like a Rush, sometimes ya don’t. It’s all good.
Saw him in Charlotte around 1984. Great concert made fabulous when Charlotte native Maurice Williams joined him on stage to sing “Stay”. Everyone wanted him to do “Redneck Friend” but his band did not practice that, so no luck.
I would have loved experiencing a JB concert at Red Rocks in Colorado.
We have a decent outdoor amphitheater here, in Pine Knob, but nothing like the scenery there.
Guessing the acoustics at RR are pretty good, too.
Thanks for posting these Admin. team.
Knew I forgot one.
Boulevard is more uptempo.
JB is still “slaying it”.
Saw him with James Taylor headlining about 6 months ago.
Awesome show…
“The Pretender” is about as real as it gets… I’m going to be a happy idiot, and struggle for the legal tender….. And believe in whatever may lie, in those things that money can buy…..
I’ll take his guitar player David Lindley for the win.
You’re joking about Darryl Hannah, right? Right?
Enlighten us, with your take.
I thought his relationship with her was rocky, at times, and she’s in one of these music vids, but beyond that, I don’t bother celebrity watching, or reading the tabloids.
Truthfully have no idea about her current status. Didn’t research.
I believe that whore helped break up Neil Young’s marriage post Jackson Browne.
JB has a huge library of songs to his name and yes I do believe he collaborated in the early days with Henley and Frey and also with Linda Rondstadt right before she hit it big. He wrote “Take it Easy” but it wasn’t quite finished before Henley and Frey put together the Eagles and added some lyric to it and recorded it.
Browne does still tour, has a great band, and puts on a great show. He is and has always been a leftist activist but minimizes it to a degree in his shows. He has so many great songs but the Pretender is still my favorite song of his, its such a writing master piece.
Browne and Hannah were a thing for almost a decade (1983-1992).
JB’s acontribution to “Take it Easy”:
Well, I’m a standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
And such a fine sight to see
It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
Slowin’ down to take a look at me
Never really cared for his music. Maybe too overplayed, maybe something else.
My all time favorite American song writer.
There’s an excellent scene in the documentary The History of the Eagles where Frey describes laying in his bed and hearing Jackson Browne composing on the piano every morning between brewinng pots of tea. One verse, over and over until it was right, a cup of tea, second verse, over and over, another cup until he finally put it altogether. In the background of the voice over you can hear the chords and the melody slowly emerge and at the end of his story you recognize the origin of Doctor My Eyes. Frey said it was then that he came to undertand that to be a songwriter you had to work at it like a carpenter would a piece of furniture.
Saw him with my son a few years ago in Portland, great show, funny stories and he played whatever the audience called out. Pretty impressive at his age.
I saw him in Buffalo in concert with Bonnie Raitt back in the mid 70’s… excellent show! One of my favorite artists back then. I may add another selection that I really like for very personal reasons.
The music brings back great memories for me of a better time. So many great artist and so little common sense.

I find this especially pertinent in today’s troubled world…

Growing up my mom always listened to JB one of her faves, so I’ve always had a special place for his music, reminds me of a simpler time.
