We used to “laugh at the Italians” but “today, it is self-styled ‘world-beating’ Tory Britain that is being laughed at around the globe”, says Alastair Campbell. A country that once boasted of its “ancient parliament” and “democratic values” has now packed in four prime ministers in six years and four chancellors “in as many months”. “Even Greece, mid-meltdown, couldn’t get close to that,” Tony Blair’s former spokesperson writes in ‘The Independent’.
With each change of Tory leader, “we thought things could not get worse”. But “with each change of leader they did”. The situation might almost be comical, according to Campbell, “…if it wasn’t for the damage it is doing to people’s lives and living standards – and Britain’s standing in the world”. What the country needs is a general election, he argues, “and it needs it sooner rather than later”. The UK “is going backwards with these people in charge” and an election “is the only way to give the country the chance to move forward”.

BREAKING NEWS: NOW back to the ‘unreal’ world of Brian Rix’s ‘The Whitehall Farce’: We can all see now that politicians don’t manage anything. Note that when Liz Truss recklessly launched her ‘Mini- Budget’ back in late September without consulting the BoE or the OBR (See last week’s Letter), the markets went hyper and caused a crisis of confidence that culminated in ‘Liz-the Biz’ finally submitting her resignation on Thursday. What now – asked these pathetic muppets? Answer: choose a new leader ASAP – like in 10 days or fewer (so why couldn’t they have done this in the first place? – yet another of the Tories multiple missteps I presume).
UPDATE – Saturday October 22 2022 – 1100 BST: BoJo has landed supposedly to save Britain. The ego of this pathological liar and committed criminal rises to galactic proportions. The core-base of committed Tory members will be pretty miffed that the MPs are out of whack with their supporter base. Clearly MPs are frightened of losing their salary (they too have mortgages) and see BoJo as their ‘best-chance’ saviour at any general election. The self-serving attitude of our supposed representatives demonstrates beyond doubt that our system of autocratic government is broken beyond repair. If ever a Great Reset is required, this one takes first place.
At the time of publishing per BBC, Sunak is ahead, with 103 votes out of the 357 Tory MPs, and will likely declare soon; BoJo is yet to declare with 46. Penny Mordaunt is trailing with 21 and is unlikely to be a serious contender although she naively jumped the gun and declared early. There are lots of hopefuls in the wings and next week should see a coronation on Monday or a vote put to the members with the chosen leader being announce by next Friday.
In her brief span, Liz Truss has managed to create a financial crisis in the sovereign debt market, forced a bailout by the Bank of England, triggered alarm bells about the safety of pension plans in the U.K., and fired her Chancellor. All of these events are interconnected. THE BACKGROUND: At a mid-week’s amazing spectacular we were presented with a minor ‘coup’ at the sudden departure of the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman supposedly of being in favour of leaving the ECHR – can’t have that – now can we? Then two Whips were rumoured to have resigned, having lost control of their MPs over ‘fracking’, but it turned out it was just another panicked rumour of no substance! The Globalists are on the attack and will attempt to replace all the Brexiteers in power so that a major coup to return Britain to the Nazi EU will arise. (Is that too strong? Then read on).
Grant Shapps, a ‘Remoaner Globalist’, replaced Braverman. Maybe it’s because the Rwanda solution is not working nor do ‘they’ really want it to work? Thank goodness because I wouldn’t send a dog there. These Nazis don’t give a damn about how much chaos, death and destruction they cause. Big Business just wants cheap labour, that’s all, Oh and bigger profits, and Oh, total global control with the little people slaving away to serve their extreme fantasies. It’s very clear that Hunt was in control this week as ‘Lettuce Liz’ finally gave up the ghost and resigned on Thursday triggering yet another ‘leadership contest. She will have no influence on policy now, save being a dancing puppet jester in the joke we call the House of Commons, and of course their owner, King Charles III:
SO THE QUESTION REMAINS – How does Great Britain really work? We had the usual Prime Minister’s Question Time (PMQ) on Wednesday which had me in stitches and doubled over in painful hilarity. This farce, now playing at the ‘House of Commons Globe Theatre’, is exactly how it appears; it’s a “Playhouse and the MPs are merely players”, as Shakespeare wisely observed 400 years ago. Politicians do not make policy; they only appear to do so to fool Joe Public. The important decisions are made and implemented by the ‘Establishment’ – the Civil Service and their sycophants, such as consultants, NGOs and an influential lobby industry owned and paid for by the Globalist bankers and their financial markets. Make no mistake they are ALL in it for the MONEY and POWER!
Britain has always been a sham of true democracy but, what was before the 21st century a relatively benevolent government, these last two+ years have exposed the true nature of how the Brits are ruled. Joe Public has never had any influence on anything that affects him; from wages, taxes, services, health, housing, lockdowns and ‘benefits’, (which is a misnomer in itself; they are dystopian labels allocated by the Establishment).
If you think about it for a minute or two you will realise that all the monies taken from us by HMG (overall some 70% of our earnings obfuscated in devious ways), are in effect insurance premiums. For example: “National Insurance Contributions” (NICs). When you make a claim on your policy, which is uniquely numbered for each of us by the NINO (National Insurance Number), you are deemed to be claiming ‘welfare benefits’ thus subliminally labelling you as a ‘useless eater’.
My work at the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) often involved persuading clients, especially conservative elderly ones, to make a claim which they felt would make them feel a ‘burden on the state’. After I clarify the situation by an example of claiming on a car insurance policy, they were happy to go ahead.
HMG is just one big insurance company and I propose that Great Britain has morphed in the last 30 years into a ‘Biosecurity Police State’ affiliated tightly with USA. That’s a pretty heavy accusation against which the politicians would have the Brits believe that they can ‘vote’ to change their living conditions. In my 78 years I have observed a continual decline in all aspects of our country and we have now arrived at a point where the robber barons can take nothing more from the 99% – Joe Public is bust, as is the country itself.
Let’s look at some evidence – there’s so much to support my case, I would have to write a tome to rival Gibbon’s Decline & Fall of the Roman-Empire although his six volumes would offer a fairly close history of where Britain is today. History of course at least rhymes if not repeats, because human nature has remained constant throughout the ages. I will take a recent example to merely illustrate my case, but I will expand on it in a future ‘Financial Jigsaw Part 2 Special Edition’. The following is an action worthy of the Stasi:

BUT NOW – What about Europe? DOES URSULA VON DER LEYEN SUPPORT DEMOCRACY?: Over the last few weeks, Ursula Von Der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, which is the most powerful body in the structure of the European Union, has made a ‘State of the Union’ speech and others praising democracy. She does not seem to understand that she herself was not elected to office. She was appointed.
There is no democracy in the European Commission. It is an autocratic committee of appointed officials (aka Technocrats). The European Commission (EC) is the executive of the European Union (EU). It operates as a cabinet government, with 27 members of the Commission (informally known as “Commissioners”) headed by a President. It includes an administrative body of about 32,000 European civil servants. The Commission is divided into departments known as Directorates-General (DGs) that can be likened to departments or ministries each headed by a Director-General who is responsible to a Commissioner.
None of the office holders run for office in an election. That is rather strange form of “democracy”, yet tolerated by the people of the EU. At present, those appointed members are plunging Europe into a very serious and possibly long-lasting economic recession which they say is caused by Russia, not by their own actions. They are also preparing sweeping new emergency powers for themselves, called the Single Market Emergency Instrument (SMEI).
The details were revealed on September 19th by the European Commission (EC). The SMEI, if adopted by the EU will grant special powers to the European Commission including the power to declare a ‘state of emergency’. “We need new tools that allow us to react fast and collectively,” said Margrethe Vestager, the European Commission’s executive vice president. This means that the unelected Commission will have the power to “build up strategic reserves of critical goods” and then have the power to “distribute these strategic reserves” in a “targeted manner” and “demand that businesses accept priority rated orders for key supplies. Businesses would be forced to comply with such demands or explain the grave reasons justifying refusal,” the EC said – [IMHO – Extreme fascism by any other name].
“Forced to comply” – that sounds like some more “democracy” and “freedom”, as defined by the unelected autocrats at the European Commission. Ursula Von Der Leyen in particular does not seem to understand the meaning of the word hypocrisy. The proposed new “Emergency Instrument” still needs to be put to the European Parliament for a vote, so several months are likely to pass before it becomes law. But we know they rubber-stamp it, defined as: “a person or organisation that gives automatic approval or authorization to the decisions of others, without proper consideration” So there you have it in black & white – period!
INFLATION WATCH: HMG announced the September inflation figures this week and they weren’t encouraging – 10.1% – but the good news for us pensioners is that this is the data point for the ‘Triple Lock’ pension increase in April next year, yet only if what Liz Truss promised will be confirmed by the new administration to emerge next week. AMONGST ALL THE UK CRISES diesel prices are soaring at the pump. I went to the local garage the other day and was dismayed to see £1.93/ltr at the pump. “What’s going on?” I asked, but nobody seemed to know and a passer-by blandly replied that it was ‘the government’. Well, I guess most of the time he would have been right, but on this occasion it’s the markets at fault again. The dystopia in Britain and Europe will probably lead to geographical fragmentation, where the European Union collapses, and nations split into many more national jurisdictions. Eventually military conquest from forces outside Europe will occur.
It’s one scenario Matthew and you may well be right. The problem with complex adaptive systems, like the global financial system, is the butterfly syndrome where tiny inputs create a disproportionate outcome which is impossible to predict regardless of the power applied by the most advanced Cray super-computer of the day.
It really doesn’t take that many brain cells to observe a weather forecast – if they get it right for five days in advance, 50% of the time, they are doing well. Hi Peter, I have some reason to believe the situation in Ukraine may be beginning to wind down. First the Pentagon has reached out to their counterparts in Russia for the first time in months and are suggesting keeping open he lines of communication. The elections here in the States are going to go badly for the Democrats, and the Republicans are talking about stopping any further aid for Ukraine.
The EU is becoming fragmented on its support for Ukraine also. The US has probably accomplished as much as it can on this front, having secured a new market for LNG, and oil shipments, and effectively removing Russia as a competitor for at least the short run. Europe will suffer economically because of this, but that is the price of being an ally of the US very often.
Meanwhile the situation with China is heating up, and there is reason to believe that will be the next area of conflict.
The recent US sanctions on China buying high tech chips, is going to be something that China will not be able to tolerate without restoring their chip making ability. It is basically the same tactic used on Japan, cutting off oil, which forced Perl Harbor before WW2.
I believe the US is forcing China’s hand to invade Taiwan, and to take over Taiwan’s chip industries. This is a much more serious situation, as China is positioning itself to be the new worlds dominant power. I believe this situation in China, will require all the resources of the US meaning it will have to abandon Ukraine, just as it had to abandon Afghanistan when Ukraine became imminent.
If you have never seen this, it is an amazing speech given in 2014 that has proven to be absolutely correct in its predictions for current events.
