Preserving Thousands of Years of Human Progress or Forcing the Donbas to Stay in Ukraine?

Guest Post by Spaceworm

The incredibly difficult question faced by Neocons and Democrats in congress today…

This past Saturday, I went for a hike with my girlfriend of 2 years. We saw the changing leaves of the Northeast, watched a gorgeous sunset, listened to a Mises Institute podcast in the car on the idiocy of Ben Bernanke winning a Nobel prize, ordered food to our apartment while still on the road, and now are settling down to watch There Will Be Blood with Daniel Day-Lewis (an incredible movie).

Photo from the hike. Near Bear Mountain New Jersey.

After this pleasant day, a thought occurred:

There has never been a time in human history when such an abundance of pleasures have been on-demand to people of nearly all income brackets. The wealthiest kings throughout history couldn’t have imagined the seemingly simple activities many take for granted today.

So my message to Neocons (and Dems if any read ZH) is simple:

STOP FUCKING GAMBLING THE FRUITS OF 4000+ YEARS OF HUMAN PROGRESS OVER A CONFLICT WE INSTIGATED REGARDING WHICH CORRUPT REGIME GETS TO GOVERN A SHITTY EASTERN REGION IN UKRAINE (against the democratic will of said region).

I’d like to continue enjoying my life. I’d like to have kids one day who can enjoy theirs. Hell… I’m happy just seeing random people whom I don’t know enjoying life too.

Peace. Compromise. Diplomacy.

These words must get through the thick skulls of Mitch McConnell, Dan Crenshaw, and Lindsay Graham. In a small glimmer of hope, Ted Cruz (a cowardly man who’ll say anything to appease his constituents), initially cheered American intervention in the war

but voted against the most recent aid package in late September.

Ted Cruz may be an easy target, but if he can be pressured into flip flopping, we need to turn up the heat on the remaining neocons. Senators with actual principles – Rand Paul and Thomas Massie – are right on this issue and need to be the faces of the GOP if this country is to stand a chance.

This has to stop.

Rand, Massie: Have some confidence and start applying pressure to Republicans. Call them out by name! The masses agree and will back you. Spineless senators will follow the masses.

Neocons: WTF are you thinking? There is no winning scenario for the US on the path we are currently on. If Crimea is in jeopardy (a region controlled by Russia for almost a decade which the citizens overwhelmingly support), Putin will nuke Ukraine.

It’s a lose-lose for the US from there as we can either escalate and destroy the world or not and appear weak.

Don’t think Putin will nuke?

According to Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, former nuclear planner for Rand Corporation with personal access to Nixon, stated that the former President was dangerously close to going nuclear on Vietnam. In an interview for Mint Press News, he discusses Nixon’s plan to use nuclear blackmail to end the war quickly. “‘There was pressure to make the war larger’” if the offer was rejected, the whistleblower noted, and ‘nuclear targets were picked.’”

If Vietnam, a country nearly 8,000 miles from the continental US, was enough of a headache that Nixon nearly pushed the button… what do you think Putin is thinking right now with a war on his border and having just resorted to conscription?

So stop this NATO theatre near the border:

Putin does not want to invade NATO and take over Europe (let alone all of Ukraine). And if the plan is to deploy these troops in the event that a nuke is used (as many have advocated for), the idea that Russia and the US will just fight an infantry war and cordially accept the results is ridicu-fucking-lous.

The risk-reward of our military support for Ukraine has reached unfathomable levels of insanity. By the State Department’s own analysis, there are no material differences in human rights protections between the governments of Ukraine and Russia (see article).

Who exactly are we helping by using Ukraine as our military sandbox? Maybe Zelensky and a few other lucky oligarchs, but certainly not the Ukrainians.

Friday saw talks between the US and Russia for the first time since May. This is somewhat reassuring. Regardless…

I’m officially a single issue voter: will you or will you not vote to send money/weapons to Ukraine? I’d vote for fucking AOC if she vowed to not give another dime to Ukraine and push for a peace settlement. I’d rather be alive in a genderless socialist dystopia than not at all.

A BIG WAR would be daily front page news, page 22 would have a paragraph about the 31 Trillion in debt, 4.2 new illegals added to the unknown millions already here, record fentanyl deaths , skyrocketing crime and murders, worst inflation in 40 years, record fuel prices, grifter politicians on and on…….just a guess the economic shitshow can’t go on much longer the ‘club’ needs a BIG WAR…

I’d rather be alive in a genderless socialist dystopia than not at all.

That would preempt the notion of any meaningful relation between yourself and your girlfriend and any potential of children. The idea of a family becomes meaningless and unachievable under those tenets.

To Defend Ukraine, It Is Time to Strike Iran

This low-key, incremental strategy of widening support for Ukraine has thus far helped empower Ukraine’s defenses while not generating a massive response, including a nuclear one, from Putin. At the same time, Putin’s wanton war crimes – the missile and drone assaults on purely civilian centers, mass killings in areas under occupation, and the like – have expanded the range of responses the West is entitled to take under international law…

Now enter Iran, purveyor of the weapons that are currently the most utilized tools in Putin’s war crimes against civilians, cities, electric grids, hospitals, and public playgrounds. To replace Russia’s dwindling arsenal, Iran is supplying a variety of missiles and drones. One of the most effective is the Shahed-136 kamikaze drone used to attack civilian targets in Kyiv. Reporting suggests even Iranian drone instructors have joined the fight in the Kherson area…

Another permissible defensive reaction would be to attack the source of the death-dealing weapons: the Iranian assets, facilities, and supply chains responsible for the production and provision of these war-crimes tools. Legitimate targets range from manufacturing plants and logistics supply bases to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps leadership responsible for the supply program.

Such a fucking dishonest article that the “War Crimes” link goes to;

Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar: The Missiles Iran Is Sending to Russia

Nothing about war crimes. Just like every other POS article about Putins War Crimes, no substance, no facts, not even any evidence. I am sure bad shit happens, but it seems that the West can’t show any specifics. But just the other day the Ukies (guided by the US) lobbed HIMARS into fleeing civilians. An actual war crime.

But on the topic, exactly who will be held responsible for the last several decades of US war crimes, and when? We do these in chronological order, right?

Something I am seeing a lot of from the warhawks, links which suggest a reasonable reference backing them, only to find that the links has nothing to do with what it is supposed to back up. A good trick by the scumbags as almost nobody follows the link to check the veracity of the claims.

It isn’t sufficient to acknowledge the obvious fact that parties are at war.

We must ask why. What is the point of such actions? What are the provocations?

Why Ukraine versus Russia? Why the West versus Russia?

Many answers to why – to steal Russia’s natural resources; to hinder and inhibit natural economic relationships (Germany/EU-Russia); to maintain dollar supremacy (export inflation); to promote democracy /s; to subvert Russia’s imperialist conquest evidenced by their glorious global Kali dance through the decades (never mind that was the USA/NATO).

Any actual humanitarian reasons? Hmmm.

Perhaps a cultural reason exists.

Is this a long, but never forgotten vendetta between Khazaria and Rus? Between non-Christians and Christians?
Look at a map of the old Khazarian empire. Look at a map of the Pale of Settlement. Look at a map of modern Ukraine.

It is all the same place.

The myth that history moves in linear fashion, i.e. that there is always progress (or standstill), is one of the cornerstones of the false world view propagated everywhere in the West.
