It has been over 10 months since Michael Nesmith passed away. This author only just learned of the news. The temptation to list Nez’ many accomplishments has been overrun by the need to share at least one of this wonderful musician’s best songs…. “I’ll Remember You” is an excerpt from Michael Nesmith’s short-lived 1985 television series, “Elephant Parts:”

Remember those who have made a difference and make them “proud.”
Interesting Nesmith fact. He was quite wealthy. His mother invented Liquid Paper – the stuff used to correct typing mistakes.
The other name for that stuff is really rayssiss: Wite Out.
Time marches on, but what blessing to have walked through those years and remembered.
As a little kid, I grew up in a very mixed neighborhood in Chicago. The blacks you to tease us how whites can’t dance. I would answer that now as shaking your ass is not dancing. Watching Fred and Ginger, now that’s dancing.
Really enjoyed the song and video.
Ya threw me a curve ball here.
I thought sure this was a post about Skid Row’s I’ll Remember You.
But this was an interesting vid.
Re: The Monkeys, there was a time when their tunes were catchy and enjoyed by many.
Yet, I’d also heard the band music wasn’t played by those guys at all.
They sang, and acted the parts, but another band was the talent behind the music.
IIRC, Neil Diamond wrote I’m A Believer.
That one, and
Last Train To Clarksville;
Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow…were liked.
“Mary. Oh, what a sweet girl. Lips like strawberry pie.
Sandra. Long hair in pigtails. I can’t make up my mind.
Well I see all kinds of sorrow. Wish I only loved one.
Look out. Here comes tomorrow.
Oh how I wish tomorrow would never come.”
But, I’ve always liked this obscure one, with the lightning quick guitar picking.
And, maybe it was The Nez playing the axe on this one. I just don’t know.
If I recall, Nesmeth was the first producer/musician to incorporate a video with a song, creating the aptly named music video.
