same thing happened in northern CA about 30 years ago. I forgot her name but she shot Daniel Driver in the head 7 times with a 25auto….the wimpiest round known, and used a Raven semi auto, notorious for feed and misfire failures. She unloaded every round in his head point blank in court after he was charged (guilty too) of molesting/raping her son. She died years later of cancer, and her son has been in and out of prison later on………..last I heard he was still in.
Some people just don’t play around, do they?

I also vaguely recall a father who point-blank shot his child’s kidnapper/molester in the head as he was being led through an airport concourse in handcuffs. The perp had been a fugitive, was recently captured and being transported back. It was recorded live by a local news station if I’m not mistaken. The father was laying in wait until the perp and police handler walked past. This was so many years ago it may have been before 9-11 and all the insane airport restrictions.

She should have also shot the jurors who acquitted the murderer.
In an environment lacking law and order I’d expect vendetta and revenge killings to become a common occurrence.
If that ever becomes true even a personal insult could become deadly. On the bright side there would be fewer nasty people mucking with your day.
