Bacon back to .99 cents again…… I remember when one American dollah would buy a pound of bacon, two dozen eggs and a loaf of white bread. I’m old (sigh)
My ass was chapped when that movie “The Help” made out southern whites as paying slave wages in the very early 60’s, bacon was .39 cents to .49 cents , eggs were .19 cent and bread was .10 -.15 cents per loaf. In many ways our “help” made more than clerical and office workers back then.
I fought malnutrition and hunger by buying 3 dozen eggs for a dollar, boiling them and taking them to campus for lunch and dinner. That was 1966 at FSU. A millionaire friend who lives in a condo in Panama City Fl sent me an email saying I was lucky to have chickens; I sent back that it has nothing whatsoever to do with luck.

It is both amusing and disheartening to see folks starting to recognize that which many of us have known for decades.

A few weeks back on Ridiculousness, Chanel (the female side-kick) actually said that she was concerned over her new phone as you could block one of the lenses and it never made any difference on the pictures. She wondered if maybe it was just being used by the spy agencies to spy on everyone who owned the phone. She is a below-average IQ type for sure, and if she is beginning to maybe get it – and more importantly say it – something good is happening.
