Stucky QOTD. Does He Get Us??

A new Christian group spent $20 Million dollars for two ads during the Super Bowl.  Wow, huh?  Well, Alexandria Occasio Nocortex went batshit crazy … natch … saying Jesus would never do (or approve) of such a thing.

Below are 5 videos they’ve done.  They range from 30 to 60 SECONDS. It takes just 3.5 minutes to watch all five of them.  You must watch them to answer today’s two questions.

Q1:  Is AOC correct?  In other words, the age old question; WWJD?

Q2: What do you think about the videos?  Specifically, do the videos accurately portray Jesus’ message?

======================

THE VIDEOS
BE CHILDLIKE
WHORES AT THE DINNER TABLE
LOVE YOUR ENEMIES
JESUS WAS POOR
HATING THE STATUS QUO AND THOSE IN POWER

=====================

Me?

Q1:  AOC has never been correct about anything substantial in her entire life. And for this godless prostitute to claim she knows the mind of Jesus is come serious Looish hutzpah!  Screw her. Well … not really!

I’ll take a stab at guessing the mind of Jesus. He healed the poor, provided for them, collected funds for them, blessed them, and loved them.  I doubt he’s have any problem merely spending some loot to get His message out to Billions of souls.

Q2: Love your enemies. Dining with sluts and thieves. Fighting for the poor while staying poor. Despising the rich and the fake authorities.  IF THAT’S NOT THE CHRISTIAN MESSAGE THEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS!!

I wish these folks all the success in the world.  We need more groups like this. Many more. Maranatha.

Wow. Excellent post. This has the potential to go super deep…and in different angles.

I’ll hold my thoughts on this as they are not refined enough, but curious to see what others say.

Wish Red River D was still around…would love to see his thoughts.

My initial reaction is that I didn’t like the videos, but I’m persuadable on this topic.

Im no RRD, but…

I have now watched each video.

Psychologically, they absolutley scream: FEAR. FEAR of the masses by those that see themselves as above all of us.

The entire message of each commerical is: ACCEPT & DO NOTHING.

1.) Be a Child. NO. That’s part of what got us here.
2.) Love Everyone. NO. I will not eat green eggs with Fauci…
3.) Love Enemies. NO. Real enemies, that want us dead, are enemies of all that is Godly. They have been let loose and destroyed much.
4.) Be Poor. NO. I will invest my gold talents and create better lives for others since I’m not a greedy SOB and recognize that cooperation and rewards go a long way in creating more “good”.
5.) Go Lightly on the Evil in Power. NO. If those graced with power and leadership become murderously abusive, they will die by the sword and The Lord shall be recognized and the people will rejoice.

PURE PROPAGANDA with a Jesus Bow on top.

In Jesus’s name… Now THAT is taking the Lords Name In Vain.

You asked for 2 cents….I left at least 3.

However, Hell is a real place if you don’t accept Jesus’ forgiveness that you will be, Cast out in utter darkness. could you imagine being alone forever, never seeing light again. That’s why He said it (Hell) will be a place where there will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth. FOREVER, that would be for eternity. Am I worthy of the forgiveness? Not in my wildest dreams. I deserve Hell. I’m just happy for his grace and patients.

Q1; No. AOC is clearly feeling usurped and threatened by these commercials.
Q2; Specifically Jesus would approve these messages when put in HIS context.
Without context the messages are ” nice” (naive) and wouldn’t stick in the viewers minds. Without looking into the organization’s credibility I can’t offer much more than saying they were a nice change of style than what’s usually aired.

I saw the 3rd one, and watched it through, on tv like 30 minutes ago – on a Wed. night…

I told my kid that was “the most powerful Jesus commericial I have ever seen”.

“Jesus commercial”. Selling. Jesus. For money? Then, it’s Big Tent Miracle Bullshit Time.

Mixed thoughts about it.

Are “enemies” those who just vehemently disagree or “fight” with you? Are “enemies” those who want you dead or covet your things to the point of wanting you dead or create covert selfish plans while speaking out of both sides of their mouth, that involve getting others dead?

The first I might “love” (meaning not beat or kill, maybe even scream or talk to each other with full animosity intact – compromise is a possibility).

The second groups should be treated accordingly, no compromise is possible due to THEM. So saith The Lord.

Abigail Adams
Abigail Adams
  AKJOHN
February 15, 2023 9:37 pm

Yes, most definitely for the illiterate masses.

BE CHILDLIKE: Problem I have with this is the tag line –> Jesus didn’t want us to act like adults.

Blasting that message out to the masses will cause confusion. With so many “adults” in our society who never really grew up and never really “found themselves” or found their mission in life or convictions, then I believe it is the wrong message to send to the illiterates. It is the perfect message for elites to blast out to get the masses to view those in authority as experts (almost parental in nature) and to gain compliance. Now if the message meant to convey that we should look to a higher power with childlike wonder (like Lucy Pevensie in Narnia where she could see things her older siblings couldn’t because she was still young), then I believe the message failed.

WHORES AT THE DINNER TABLE: This one feels good on the surface, but I feel there is a deeper message of pushing tolerance. To me, it screamed LOVE NOT HATE – and who do you often hear this message from? Yes, we should be compassionate as Christians, but there comes a point where somethings absolutely should not be tolerated. Doesn’t mean we have to hurt those people necessarily, but they sure as hell are not welcome at my dinner table.

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES: Again, it’s a LOVE NOT HATE message. Feels good on the surface, but the deeper message is accepting your enemies. Love thy neighbor does not mean acceptance – I don’t believe. Unfortunately, the people in this nation are at an impasse. There is no way around it. The Bible even says there are seasons. We are not in a good season right now and we will have to push through the winter to get to the other side. And the images of hate just add to the propaganda because it doesn’t make anyone feel good inside.

JESUS WAS POOR: Well, ok, yes. But this feels like we are to be accepting of our station in life. Not that the American Dream exists anymore, but why the message of hopelessness about our situation just because Jesus was poor? Doesn’t make sense to me. There is nothing evil about trying to improve yourself and build wealth. You can do a lot of good things with your wealth. I feel like the message missed that point. We do not have to despair.

HATING THE STATUS QUO AND THOSE IN POWER: Wow. I feel like this one speaks for itself. Are they talking about Klaus Schwab or Jesus? The message at the end states –> Jesus had to control his outrage, too. WOW! Every one of us has the right to be outraged right now. Righteous anger. Pure propaganda, IMO.

Now, I’m just a toddler when it comes to Christianity. But this is how I see these messages. I would not be surprised if TBTP helped put it together. It feels like the overall message is to be tolerant, compliant, and accepting of your station in life.

I’m sure Stucky will have excellent counter-arguments that I’d love to hear.

(I banged this out quickly, so there may be a ton of errors.)

“Despising the rich”

I’m not sure that he taught that so much as he taught us not to worship them or their money.

But yeah – I think the message is supposed to be unity over division. And I think, from a ‘marketing His message’ perspective He’d be cool with it.

For me personally. The 1st video about being childlike is a bit of a miss. We’re supposed to love our fellow man but it doesn’t mean we have to enjoy his company or be childish about it. We can respect one another and be gracious without acting like children. IMHO.

“Despising the rich and the fake authorities. IF THAT’S NOT THE CHRISTIAN MESSAGE THEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS!!”

So then Jesus “despised” those who did not abide by his principles? That sounds more like what’s in the Old Testament and what AOC is all about.

Myself, I despise the “authorities” and others who bow to and support the cretins in D.C and so many other places, but I’m not against rich people, unless they are like Gates, Gore, and the like. Quite a large number of rich people got that way by having provided a service or product that was beneficial to the buyers.

Jesus said he did not come to destroy but to save. He also made clear that eventually judgement will come to all. I will patiently wait to see what that means in the end. We were just thrown a life saver, we weren’t taken aboard and given advanced classes. Although, I am not qualified to interpret prophecy.

For me, prophecy is a witness to God’s power and presence in hindsight. I am sure that concept would really bother the eggheads, so I’ll say a prayer for them.

Flash has always been wrong about his stance on tolerance.
An allusion to an utterance of Jesus in John 8:7, viz. “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
This is a basic tenet of what Jesus taught. Not the church, but what Jesus actually taught and practiced. If tolerance is not a part of love and forgiveness, what is?

So shall we tolerate the intolerable? What is intolerable? Pedophilia? Shall we tolerate pedophiles? Shall we accept the unacceptable? What is unacceptable? The list is endless, start with mass murder and lies perpetrated by the Covid Vaxx pushers and work your way down.

I have no use for insipid and saccharine propaganda that pushes an agenda. We have the open borders of tolerance and acceptance going great guns since Obiden stole the office and look what all that tolerance and acceptance has gotten us. This is the kind of nonsense that gets people killed. How many stupid young women ‘tolerated’ those muslim ‘refugees’before they were raped and murdered?

Jesus wasn’t here to bring the world together in one giant love-fest circle jerk, he stated that he was here to turn mother against daughter and son against father…Matthew 10:35

Jesus said to his Apostles: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s enemies will be those of his household.”

Boy, talk about cognitive dissonance. Within two hours you went from “Jesus said tolerate everything” — a lie; to “man-made law trumps God’s law” — a lie; while entirely skipping over the truth in the middle.

Adultery was, and still is, one of those “big things” and yet there’s no man-made law against it (in the west).
You left out what Jesus said to the adulteress after everyone dropped their stones. Even the Gospel leaves out whether she actually followed his command, but Christ was clear on the consequences of not adhering to his command — hint: the consequence wasn’t “tolerance”.

I don’t understand why scripture cannot simply be read and studied. Why always something “different”, something “special”. Why some knucklehead televangelist asking for one’s last dime and promising that will save them. Crackheads.

Perhaps your conundrum arises from your understanding of the word “love”.

Eros – Romantic, Passionate Love (Of the Body) …
Philia – Affectionate, Friendly Love. …
Storge – Unconditional, Familial Love. …
Agape – Selfless, Universal Love. …
Ludus – Playful, Flirtatious Love. …
Pragma – Committed, Long-Lasting Love. …
Philautia – Self Love.

Plug each definition into that verse and see which one speaks to your soul.

1) AOC has no clue about the question, let alone the answer.

2) As far as the mechanics of the message: viewers were likely less stressed than any time in the previous week, therefore their ability of absorb the message(s) was heightened-shrewd messaging, I’d say. Religion in general-and these Jesus messages in particular-are highly individual, meaning the same message if often received in a variety of ways. Of more importance and transcending the messages is the messenger. The world is devoid of any real leader, other than Jesus.

I saw the “Love Your Enemies” during the game and thought it was pretty cool.

But, in terms of accuracy, the one claiming Jesus was poor may be in error. I mean, they are referencing a hard working, top-notch carpenter who was a bachelor with no ex-wife or kids, and who began doing charity full-time at the age of 30.

As for the rest, and from a superficial standpoint, there isn’t much to debate theologically or ecclesiastically in either the spots or website? Other than, perhaps, the applied emphasis on the Biblical revelations of Jesus?

In any event, however, I am always suspect of well-financed organizations with polished brands standing strong before typically changing channels and going woke and broke at the next commercial break paid by their sponsors.

Hopefully not, but just sayin’.

The very first thing Jesus taught his disciples was, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.”
Regarding the eight Beatitudes in Matthew 5, you can’t have one without the other. They are the cornerstone of what a disciple looks like.
Jesus followed this up with examples such as the parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus. A visual of what our righteousness looks like before a Holy God. We lie in our own excrement and the dogs come and lick our sores. We are only physically capable of holding our hand to beg because we’ve got nothing to give. Oh yeah, the name Lazarus means God is my help.
AOC has no idea what this means.

The videos are striking. Simple and to the point. To get that one lost sheep to run to Jesus.

AOC just doesn’t get it, and yes I believe the messages in the video’s do portray Jesus in the correct light. He wants us to come to Him as a child, because a child has the innocence to believe without hesitation. Ask a young child if they know Jesus. I bet you will get a positive answer.

Do I shine my halo every day – NO.
Do I ask for forgiveness every day – YES

Wasn’t that exactly the message of those commercials? Look! Diversity! Are we inclusive, or what? It seemed to be the central message, without all those races hugging and supping together, the creator/director/casting would have had fifteen seconds of video instead of three and half minutes.

Clearly all they see are the differences.

It’s just more of the same multi-cult propaganda you get from every single ad you see today in the guise of a Christian commercial. Maybe it’s effective on old lefties close to death who still feel drawn to God, but to anyone who is aware of the relentless push, push, push of the great replacement crowd, it’s about as appealing as a Cadillac commercial.

Get behind me Satan.

Strategy #1: To the Jews
Jesus did have a deep conviction of a special mission to the Jewish nation, who were God’s treasured possession (Exodus 19:5). He expressed this so strongly that some have concluded that He envisioned no mission beyond Israel. But careful consideration of all His words and actions reveals that it was a question of strategy: As Paul later expressed it, His mission was “to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16; 2:10, King James Version).

Jesus’ concern for Israel was shown in the instructions to the 12 disciples as He sent them out on their first preaching mission. “Do not go in the way of the Gentiles,” He said, “and do not enter any city of the Samaritans; but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 10:5-6, NASB). The apostle Paul later wrote, “God, having raised up His servant, sent Him to you (the Jews) first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness (Acts 2:26, ESV, author’s clarification in parentheses).

His ministry was restricted primarily, but not exclusively, to the Jews (Matthew 8:1-13). Indeed, in the very same context is the prediction that the preaching ministry of the disciples would be extended to the Gentiles; “You shall even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles” (Matthew 10:18, NASB 1977).

Luke’s Gospel tells of a later preaching mission in which 70 others were sent out two by two (Luke 10:1). Just as the 12 apostles symbolically represent the 12 tribes of Israel, the 70 symbolize the Gentile nations. In Genesis 10, the descendants of Noah are listed, 70 in number.

Rabbinical tradition assumed that this was the total number of nations scattered over the earth after the Tower of Babel and repeatedly referred to the 70 Gentile peoples. Jesus may have used this means of symbolizing His long-range purpose. The 12 were sent to heal the sick and announce the nearness of God’s kingdom. The 70 were sent later on a training mission in preparation for their ultimate mission to the whole world.

Jesus ministered to the Jews for the Gentiles.

Strategy #2: To the Gentiles
Most of the public ministry of Jesus was conducted in Jewish territory. Under the circumstances, the number of personal contacts with Gentiles recorded in the Gospels is surprising. He healed a Gadarene (Gentile) demoniac (Matthew 8:28-34). Another time, among 10 lepers healed, one was a Samaritan (a mixed race, half-Jew), and Jesus remarked upon the fact that only the foreigner returned to thank Him (Luke 17:12-19).

A Samaritan woman was the sole audience for one of Jesus’ greatest dialogues. She received the assurance that the time was near when God would be worshipped, not just in Jerusalem (where the Jews worshipped) or at Mt. Gerizim (where the Samaritans worshipped), but all over the world “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:5-42).

A Canaanite (Gentile) woman’s faith was rewarded when her daughter was healed. Much has been made of Jesus’ challenging remark at the beginning of the encounter: “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 15:24, ESV). He declined to heal her because His mission was first to the Jews. The woman understood and didn’t challenge this. Even so, she humbly submitted herself to Jesus, asking for His mercy. The significant point is that Jesus did minister to this Gentile woman and praised her faith in the presence of His disciples and the Jewish onlookers (Matthew 15:28). This incident echoed forward to Romans 15:8-9 that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy.

Another example of Jesus reaching the Gentiles involved a Roman centurion whose servant was healed. Commander of a band of 100 foreign soldiers quartered at Capernaum to keep the peace, this Roman leader was despised by the Jews who resented this “army of occupation.” Conscious of his own authority as a military man, he humbly assured Jesus that it would not be necessary for Him to go to his house to heal his servant (and thus render Himself unclean — because He was a Jewish man — by entering a Gentile home). “But only say the word, and my servant will be healed,” he declared with genuine faith (Matthew 8:8, ESV). Jesus turned and announced to the Jewish crowd which was following Him: “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith” (Matthew 8:10, ESV). He did not stop there but continued with this solemn prediction: “I tell you, many such foreigners shall come from the east and the west to join Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But many others who thought they were ‘sons of the kingdom’ (the chosen people of Israel) shall be shut out” (Matthew 8: 11-12, author’s paraphrase).

In Jerusalem, during the week of Passover, a group of Greeks who had made a commitment to follow the laws of Judaism asked to speak with Jesus (John 12). Their request for an audience caused Jesus to declare: “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified” (John 12:23, ESV). The deep interest of the Greeks was evidence that the world was ready for His redemptive mission to be culminated by His atoning death: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself” (John 12:32, ESV). “All men” — Greeks as well as Jews — this is the clear implication of these profound words recorded by John.

The simple salvation equation: 1 + 2 = eternal life in the presence of the Creator God of the universe. What could be better than that?

1) Know that you are lost and without hope.

Plus…

2) Believe (TRUST) that God in Christ paid your debt for you. Christ died for YOUR sin.

Plus…

3) There is no 3… It’s just 1 + 2! (Except perhaps to thank God for doing what He did… that would be nice.

so why all the rapturtard, third temple, the gospels are not for Gentiles mystery mumbo jumbo?

Because it’s not mumbo jumbo; it is a part and parcel of all that God has done, is doing and will do in the world! We are told to study the scriptures and that ALL scripture is beneficial for our knowledge. Here’s where you tend to get upset; not all scripture is for our direct instruction. It simply cannot be!

Every verse of scripture, in order for it to be fully understood, needs to be viewed in three distinct ways; spirituality, historically and (gasp) dispensationally.

I’m gonna stop there while I’m ahead. I’ll provide examples if you like.

..whew…A lot to unpack here, bruh… Since no church father in over 2000 years of Christianity has uttered the claim that Jesus never came for the salvation of Gentiles, I’ll need to dig a lot deeper on this. Fascinating read , though..

“Herein lies the essence of the mystery made known to Paul… that Gentile believers might receive some portion of Gods blessing apart from the nation Israel. ”

Clearly then, Jesus Christ, during His earthly ministry to Israel, did not have we Gentiles in mind, except that we would be blessed by His chosen nation Israel. That is their stated purpose. Speaking to the same woman of Canaan Jesus exclaims in Mat 15:26… “But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.” Sweet, kind and mild Jesus just called you a dog! Ah, but you say: “Christ in the next verse blesses the woman He just called a dog, so He did come for her!” The only reason He blessed her is because she recognizes her place in the grand scheme of things; as a subordinate to those above her, the nation Israel. She (a lowly Gentile) recognizes the Lord that Israel failed to recognize, and answers in verse 27… “And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters table.” She realizes that Israel is to be something very special and accepts her place under them. The faith she was required to demonstrate to receive a blessing from God (Gen 12:3… “I will bless them that bless thee…”) was sure.”

If Christ was not sent to me (He was sent to Israel) then how am I blessed by His coming? After all, John 3:16 says… “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” “Am I not a part of the world”, you ask? Well, yes we all are a part of the world, of course. “Then God sent His Son for me, says so right in the verse”, you exclaim.

Let me ask then… If the gospel of our salvation is that Christ died on His cross as a substitute for us (1 cor 15:1-4), taking our deserved place as hopeless sinners (Rom 3:26); with the penalty of any sin at all being sure death (Rom 6:23); was made into sin for us (2 Cor 5:21), that sin and its penalty could be permanently destroyed by death (Rom 6:6-7); and was subsequently raised for our justification (Rom 4:25); where in John 3:16 can I learn any of that? In truth, John 3:16 is the gospel of Israel (the circumcision) as it was Israel who needed to simply “believe that Jesus was the Messiah sent from God” to His people.

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, GO NOT into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Go not means do not go. The twelve were not sent to believers today. Great tribulation has not yet occurred.

Paul was sent to us.

You rightly question, “So I am NOT supposed to follow Christ or the twelve?” My answer (the Bibles rightly divided answer) is no, you are not. You can not. You are not empowered to (as early Acts believers were). You are to follow Paul (NOT that we magnify or worship Paul), we follow Paul as Paul followed Christ. We worship and magnify Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, One God in 3 Persons, for all time!

Yes. Two gospels.
I have been dancing around this concept by saying that Paul and the twelve were not, could not, have been preaching the same things.
The Jews were Gods chosen people and everyone else was not. That’s about as different as people can be. Is Ted’s dog the same as not Ted’s dog? Of course not. There was a specific gospel message “of” each; as Ted’s dog is specific to Ted. Things that are different cannot possibly be the same.

I know… you have never heard of such a thing. That’s okay; just because a thing is not popularly known does not preclude it from being true. It is also not your fault for not knowing this. This simple and most basic Bible truth is not taught in denominational churches, as the implications are more than profound. This simple truth is the absolute key to Bible understanding.

The King James maintains Paul’s literal meaning, and that is: 1) a specific gospel (good news) message was given to him that he could give to the uncircumcision (the heathen), and 2) a specific gospel (good news) message was given to Peter and the twelve that they could give to the circumcision (the Jews).

Emmanuel (Christ with us) on earth for His earthly ambassadors, Israel, to bring in “thy Kingdom come ON EARTH as it is in heaven” (read those words carefully again); and the Risen and Glorified Lord Jesus Christ for His Heavenly ambassadors, the church – the body of Christ; you and me, today’s believers. Our hope is in Heaven. The Jews hope is Heaven come to earth.

There is no denying the existence of these two distinct messages if we believe the Bible as we say we do. The words on the page say what they say. In the next post we will examine some of the specifics as to what makes the two messages different to hopefully help flesh out the WHY of all this. Why did God have two separate messages for these two groups of people?

Keep digging, this is very beautiful stuff! You mentioned the “church fathers”, how they’ve never mentioned such things as I discuss. There’s a very good reason for that. The “mystery” is the very last thing satan wants a man to understand. It represents his utmost humiliation.

Colossians 2:15 KJB… “And having spoiled principalities and powers, HE made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

To hide this information specifically were the “new bible” translations written. The mystery revealed to Paul cannot be found in them; only in those which follow the textus receptus (KJB), which exclude the textus vaticanus (DR, NIV, etc).

Missing this information is what leads to religion; and religions main purpose is to control people. The church “fathers” are as corrupt as any ever were, sad to say. We here on TBP know we’ve been lied to by every social institution extant. Why should that exclude the early church aside from those few who have always known to follow Paul?

In his final letter to Timothy (likely his final letter before his murder) Paul writes…

2 Timothy 1:15 KJB… “This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.”

You can see that this mystery information has been under extreme attack since the very beginning. Follow Paul through the book of Acts and notice how many of the Jews wanted him dead and gone!

Acts 23:12-15 KJB… “And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy. And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul. Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.”

The forty quite likely suffered the consequences of that curse because Paul lived to write many epistles thereafter!

Enjoy the weekend flash and let me know if you have any questions at all. I’d be more than happy to answer! You have my email. Very refreshing to say, grace and peace…
