It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Great variety w this edition, Av.
Well done.
Many memories triggered.
Good ones.
Sad display of when holidays actually meant something and people treated those holidays with respect.
Happy Easter
They don’t call us ” Cling-On’s ” s for nothing.
The Great Resist also means holding on to our culture instead of letting it be mocked and defiled.
I will celebrate Christian Easter but not the libturds spring festival and all the filth they love. PS: There are a lot of other good Conservative Republicans out there (MTG, DeSantis, Lake, Carlson, Boebert, Gabbard, Brand, Emmer, etc) that filthy commies need to arrest on Trumped up charges.
Remember when kids were only indoors for punishment?
I remember dressing up for Easter parades. And many Easters, we got together with relatives who lived about 50 miles away for reunion and dinner.
My friend had a 70’s Cutlass 442 with swivel seats.
Had a ’74 Malibu Classic with that feature!
There was a liquor store just around the corner. My mom would write me a note and give me money to go and buy her cigarettes. They would sell them to me. Yeah, good times….back when I had a 4 pack a day second hand smoke habit thanks to both my parents smoking around me.
We got lots of 2nd hand smoke sitting the car with Dad smoking with only the vent window open.
My dad would only open the vent window on really hot days.
Back when society had morals.
… and when the United States was still a Sovereign Nation … ‘under God’ … a monolithic culture, not this chamber pot that we’ve got today …
I remember going to the drug store, yes the DRUG STORE, to set at the counter and get a “cherry’ coke. A coke with some cherry syrup squirted in it. Big deal at the time and it cost you a fortune, a dime. YUM!
1953 was the epitome of women’s fashion.
A tradition when the boys were small was to watch the classic cartoon ‘Funny Little Bunnies’ (I didn’t know it was Disney at the time). It seems to have been sanitized off the web when I tried to find it so wish I would have saved the vhs we used to have it on. Disney’s fandom page has this listed for it:
Censorship
A bunny licking chocolate off its lips, leaving it in blackface, is cut on television.
Maybe someone knows where to find it in this new ‘woke’ society as it’s adorable.
