Then they ran a quote from Jake Sullivan saying that there would not be a big American military action in Sudan. Which, I assume, means that the US is sending troops into Sudan.

In 1983 we (the 82nd Airborne) did an exercise in Egypt called Bright Star. We jumped with Sudanese paratroopers over the Sinai. It was like working with the handicapped. Poorly outfitted, poorly trained, and not too bright. I still have no idea why we have such a fascination with every obscure corner of the world. Can you imagine what we could have done in America if we had simply kept to ourselves for 250 years? No aid, no wars, nothing but trade and goodwill.
I feel sorry for those people, they’re going to get rolled by whoever shows up with a checkbook and a promise.

I was in a glorious Vacation Bubble for a few days and knew nothing of it until church on Sunday when they asked for prayers since they have some non-CIA people there doing humanitarian work. My son asked what I knew about it.
I told him, “We’re probably trying to kick over the government in another country and it didn’t work. Now the killing begins.” We then discussed not ‘winning’ a war since WWII but killing a lot of people that don’t agree with us and we’re probably getting about to the point the world is sick of our shit.
