The term “right side of history” punches all my buttons. History may prove a position to have been correct or incorrect in the future. History simply IS. No right side or wrong side, it is just (hopefully) a record of what occurred at a given place and time.
While many thoughtlessly use the term because they heard it somewhere and it sounds catchy, when used by some lowlife asshat like Bath House Barry or Demented Grifter Joe, it is the word of a DEMAGOGUE. It is an attempt to make fools believe in the inevitability of an assclown’s ideology triumphing for all time. Bullshit like “WE are the people we have been waiting for” in order to emanantize the Eschaton or any other illusory delusion of grandeur.
Indeed. The “right” side of history is the side that hasn’t been written yet!
