I’ve ever only been in a Catholic church once, but I love reading history and attests to the fact that sans the Catholic church, Christendom aka Western Civilization would have been destroyed centuries ago.
Catholics defended faith, tradition, family , community and culture for over 1500 years, but in only 500 years Protestants incessantly re-interpreting the faith have nearly destroyed the authority of Christianity in the West.
That said, I choose the Orthodox over Catholicism as the superior of the two, but all believers are saved by grace…even the Protestants.

There are not “better” or “worse” Christians. One is either saved or not. Some are better at seeing souls saved and the saints edified than others. Some will have greater reward than others.

That depends on your definition of Christian. Throughout history Christians who have never been Catholic have exposed and avoided paganism and Catholicism. Catholics, however, who have a different belief system and yet also call themselves Christians, most definitely come from a foundation of paganism, most notably Mithraism.
Catholic means UNIVERSAL. As Rome conquered other nations they incorporated the local religions and traditions into the culture of the empire to promote unity to strengthen the empire. Robert Sepehr isn’t lying.
