Image created by a Japanese neurologist. It stays still when you are calm. It begins to move when you experience a slight amount of pressure. It moves like a carousel when under a great deal of stress.
How are you doing?

If that’s how it actually works it’s a great tool for concentration. I can get it to stand completely still as long as I focus intently, but if I let my eyes drift to look at the different aspects of it rather than as a single image, it starts to move.
Either way, pretty cool.
Reminds me of those posters at the mall back in the 70’s where you looked at it long enough you could see dolphins or whatever.
Yes.
Now think of a young man trying to build a log cabin and tell me how fast it moves.
I never saw any dolphins or dinosaurs, no matter how long I looked.
This only moves in my peripheral vision.
But still fascinating enough for my desktop.
That’s extremely cool. The central purple column appears to be ever so slowly rotating left, while the red ball appears to be rotating to the right.
What image ? I think I’m dead.
You are … but just don’t lie down and no one will notice …
Meanwhile, enjoy this beautiful Sunday morning — including the Sunday Morning Classics …
Huh? It’s completely still, no matter where I look or how much I concentrate on my breathing or not.
I had a second cup of coffee and its moving faster now.
Me, too! Wasn’t moving at all 30 min ago. In fact, it looked like 2D and had no depth to it. Now, after a cup of coffee, looks different and moves ever so slightly.
Me, too, SL
Not sure how long I should stare at it but I have a short attention span so there’s that.
Reading short quick articles like we’re all accustomed to doing is one of the worst things for your attention span, without throwing in some longer challenging texts every now & then. Memes too…terrible for attention spans…but it is the way of the world now. Sad. (and I do have some fav memes that make me laugh…but just acknowledging that our culture is so incredibly dumbed down now that that is how the majority choose to communicate ideas.)
Anyway, that’s why I like to read i forget…he totally challenges my brain & makes me think hard. It’s exercise…as he likes to say.
(Just a general observation not directed at anyone in particular)
Me too. The longer I spend on TBP. The worse it gets.

You’re dead. Contact your relatives and arrange for your memorial service.
All I see is a beautiful naked woman.
How about you move away from your neighbor’s window?
Killjoy
He just wants a better position for himself.
This will play with your mind a little.
“Joe Biden’s Brain” by Hunter Biden
wow, man……duuuude
Okay, that just makes me nauseous.
I can keep it very still without trying. I bet this on acid would be something.
Try an antiacid first.
Misinformation.
“Please have a seat. We’ll be right with you Miss Information”
Lol.
Yeah, the thing didn’t move for me either.
I think that means either:
A. I am a genius.
Or
B. I have terminal brain cancer.
I notice that if I focus on the purple ball to the left the carousel effects stops completely, and if I let my mind see only that purple ball as a focus of my vision: then the entire 3d background transforms into a weird 2D tile project gone wrong. If I think about it too much the carousel effect will start and stop multiple times in a few seconds, like pausing and resuming a video… I assume this carousel effect / optical illusion is triggered by how our eyes change (become strained) when under stress?
Mm-Hmm. Yah. Das gut!
I vant you to lie back on zee couch, undt gaze it zees a vile.
You get ting veddy zleeeepy.
Now. Lie back, relax, undt tell me all of your ppgggrroddllumms.
It stayed perfectly steady for me till I thought about a senile pedophile with his finger on the nuclear button, then it looked like a ball caught up in a tornado.
It stands till for me and I’m the most anxious person I know.
Perfectly still. Tried at a bunch of different angles, the same. Open and close eyes It moves a touch.
What does it mean if it moves backwards?
(asking for a friend…)
Never seen anything move so fast before.
Kidding. Barely moved. Cool as a cucumber.
#stoic
If I start masturbating vigorously it moves fast.. If I look at pictures of my ex it stops and i start puking… What does this mean?
It means you need to get out more.
Get back in the bag with the other ricks.
Keep your eyes focused on one spot and it remains stationary. Let your eyes wander and it appears to rotate. I would guess the premise is that if you’re calm, the eyes won’t wander.
Maybe you have to think in Japanese…..
Hexagons stable.
Using it as a fan in the kitchen right now!
I’m cross eyed so, no impact.
It only moves when my eyeballs move. Looking directly at it nothing appears to move. I question whether the optical illusion means anything.
I’d hazard a guess that anxious people, stressed people, have more eye movement/activity. Nervousness. It’s the eye movement that creates the illusion of movement in the image.
Easy to make it completely still by just looking at any one point. Otherwise I have only the slightest movement. But cool anyway.
And yet R.E.M. occurs during the deepest sleep.
Why is the boob on the right so much bigger than the one on the left?
I see dead people, if only they would quit touching my stuff. And don’t call me Francis.
If I move my head slightly to the left or right then it moves ever so slightly……….
To answer the question: All fucked up.
(and Auntie did not need pop-art, no matter how genius, to discern it.)
Can’t get it to move. I suspect I’m a dullard.
I do enjoy forget’s stream of consciousness posts.

I can’t make it move, no matter what I try.
That’s what she said.
Lolz.
So my mental growth was arrested at 14, what’s it to ya?
