A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
Anthony Aaron, and Steve C.
Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.
We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.
Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.
We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.
A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.
We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.

We’ll travel down a different path this week … hope you won’t mind …
The first piece is very seasonal – and, while this may not be the ‘season’, it somehow feels right …
Mystical Christian Chant: In The Dark Night – Ukrainian Orthodox Chant – Chant of the Deep – Carol
It is impossible to listen to this soulful Ukrainian Orthodox carol and truly understand the words without crying. This song describes the Birth of Jesus, with the Mother of God singing him a lullaby about his heavy but redeeming fate. She sings to him that he will grow up and go into the world, to teach people about the mystical Kingdom of God. She tells him he will save the world from death, but not before He, her newly born Son, would himself die on Golgotha.
To give birth to your own God, and then sing to Him about His inevitable death, and glorious resurrection. No mother wants to outlive her son, but its an entirely separate strange and awesome thing to understand that not only will your son die, but He will also save the human race and rise from the dead.
“If Christ were born in Bethlehem a thousand times and not in thee thyself; then art thou lost eternally.” ― Angelus Silesius
Dark Night Of The Soul; Luminous Night Of The Soul; Across The Sky Eternal Light by Ola Gjeilo
Dark Night of the Soul is the title of a poem written by 16th-century Spanish poet and Roman Catholic mystic Saint John of the Cross, and of a treatise he wrote later, commenting on the poem. Saint John of the Cross’ poem narrates the journey of the soul from its bodily home to its union with God. The journey is called “The Dark Night” because darkness represents the hardships and difficulties the soul meets in detaching from the world and reaching the light of the union with the Creator. Luminous Night of the Soul reveals the soul’s fulfillment.
Loreena McKennitt- The Dark Night of the Soul
This is Ms. McKennitt’s take on the aforementioned poem by St. John of the Cross … the lyrics are in the first comment …
Chant of the Mystics: Divine Gregorian Chant “Kyrie eleison (orbis factor)”
This mystical Gregorian melody gives a glimpse of what can be found in the core of Western spirituality. It is sung in the traditional roman-catholic liturgy, specifically found in the 11th mass music collection, called “orbis factor”. “Kyrie eleison” is Greek and translates to “God, have mercy”.

Anthony, Steve, Ursel, Leah, and anyone else that conceived of, created, or added to this weekly treasure, my sincerest thanks. You are the DJs with the choices that should permeate our culture while it feeds our souls and stirs our spirits. Alas, we have settled for much less. You are keeping it alive.
Thanks for your support, DJ … we’re here for you every Sunday — rain or shine.
Hi Mafioso team. I am sorry to have left you hanging but time is of the essence now as we are departing for Simons Town, Western Cape by mid-November or before. The situation in UK is desperate but you won’t know the extent of the disaster from the MSM. Ordinary people around me are panicking and those that can, are getting out fast.
The Banksters have even targetted Nigel Farage and blacked him throughout the banking fraternity. https://austrianpeter.substack.com/p/esg-explained-telling-the-truth-keep?utm_source=twitter&sd=pf
A SOBER WARNING
• First they came for the unmasked and I did not speak out because I wore a mask.
• Then they came for the unvaccinated and I did not speak out because I was vaccinated.
• Then they came with medical passports and I said nothing because I still believed in the science.
• Then they came after all dissenters and silenced them and I said nothing because I still believed in their narrative.
• Then they came for all of the unvaccinated and there was no one left to speak for humanity.
• Then they came for everyone (whether vaccinated or not ,because being vaccinated will simply not save you from their stated depopulation plan) and there was no one left to speak for humanity ‘

Thank you for all your wonderful music – I listen but have little time to comment.
