IT’S INDEPENDENCE (FROM CENSORSHIP) DAY

Guest Post by Alex Berenson

A federal judge in Louisiana just blew up the White House effort to force social media companies to censor people with opinions (or facts) it doesn’t like. This is YUUUGE for Berenson v. Biden.

Yesterday, federal Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana issued a preliminary injunction barring the White House and several federal agencies from trying to get social media companies from censoring people or posts.

If the post is “protected free speech,” the agencies CANNOT ask Twitter, Facebook, or anyone else to do anything about it, Judge Doughty ruled.

Doesn’t matter if it’s the finest piece of journalism since The New York Times published the Pentagon Papers or the finest piece of journalism since The New York Times published Walter Duranty’s reporting on the 1930s Soviet famines. The White House has no business trying to get it taken down, Judge Doughty wrote in a brilliant 155-page memorandum supporting his injunction in the lawsuit, which the states of Missouri and Louisiana filed against President Biden last year.

It’s Independence Day, all right.

On page 102 of the memorandum, Judge Doughty neatly explained the stakes.

“Without a free debate about these issues, each person is unable to decide for himself or herself the proper decision regarding their health. Each United States citizen has the right to decide for himself or herself what is true and what is false. The Government… does not have the right to determine the truth.”

(Free speech. It’s as American as apple pie. And Voltaire. Though – ironically – he didn’t say this.)

More coming on this ruling – and its very favorable implications for Berenson v Biden. (The White House’s efforts to censor me come up repeatedly in the memo.)

But for now, just enjoy this unprecedented win.

This is great news from an honest, uncorrupted judge. Gee, I wonder if the deep state will obey.

And why would anyone expect the administration or Facebook, etc to care about this ruling and comply?

i was about to post this when i saw that an article about it had already been posted —
this is a different guy writing about it —
at the bottom of the article is one of those polls that they try to get you to click on —
it asks who is the bigger threat, biden or zuckerberg?
i choose zuckerberg,how about you?

slightly off topic but it involves federal courts —
a mass. couple sued the state in fed. court b/c the public school that the kid attended was giving their 11 yo mental health counseling(mom/dad already had the kid in counseling) and were helping the kid transition while keeping it a secret from mom/dad —
they lost at the local level & have appealed to the appeals court –the atty gen.s of 16 states have filed briefs w/the court supporting mass.’s position that parents have no rights to know about what is going on w/their kids in school or to interfere w/the school —
the 16 states are listed near the bottom of the article —

This level of lawlessness doesnt care about a court order.
We the people must water the tree of liberty.

People seem to always be whinging on and on about “liberty”.

But, when they say liberty, they typically mean “liberty” to do the things “We think are normal” not “The vile and disgusting things ‘they’ think are normal.”

Making “normalcy” a standard is absurd because things normally change.
So “normalcy” by default is ALWAYS a moving goal post.

The standard of right and wrong requires a universal, principled, understanding of the actual, observable, cycles of life.

Then we can say “It us wrong to overconsume BECAUSE it makes us sick, and we become an unfair burden on others by means of our history of selfish consumption. ”

Or “If it is wrong for other people to physically harm or kill us, it is wrong for us to physically harm or kill others.”

Etc.

The laws are all obvious once one realizes our “conscience” “spirit” “soul ” are just along for the ride.
Life.
Death.
These are things we as humans have little true power over.

Recognizing our true place in this story seems to be what this system has so successfully locked away from the majority for millenia.
But some have seen.
