These Are The Safest Cities In America

Via ZeroHedge

The phrase “small town America” often conjures up images of white picket fences, well-trimmed lawns, and big houses. But how safe is modern-day suburbia in America?

Some of the smallest places in the country can actually be among the most dangerous. Take for example Bessemer, Alabama, with a population of around 26,000 and a violent crime rate of 33.1 per every 1,000 residents.

That said, there are many small cities that are true havens for families across the United States. Visual Capitalist’s Avery Koop uses this map to showcase the safest cities in the U.S., using FBI data and Census Bureau populations compiled by NeighborhoodScout in 2023.

Note: The source only considered cities with a population of 25,000 or higher. This report is based on total index crimes reported in each city, which includes arson, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, murder, rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault.

Top 100 Safest Cities in the U.S.

40% of the cities in the ranking are located in Northeastern states, which are typically rated the “safest” based on FBI data.

Here’s a closer look at the Top 10:

One quarter of the safest cities are located in Massachusetts, with the vast majority clustered around Boston.

The median population of the cities and towns in the top 100 is just 32,000, and few widely-recognized cities make the list. Carmel, Indiana (#60) is the only city with a population above 100,000 to make the rankings. This would seem to follow the logic that bigger cities are more dangerous, but our map covering the most dangerous cities in America shows that many small cities were just as dangerous, and some even more.

Regardless, small towns can truly be idyllic. For example, a person’s chance of falling victim to crime in Ridgefield, Connecticut, the safest ranked city in the U.S., is just 1-in-510. That’s an overall rate of fewer than two incidents of crime per every 1,000 residents.

One surprising observation from the data is that many of the safest U.S. cities are in very close proximity to some of the most dangerous.

One example that illustrates this is Detroit, which ranks as the sixth most dangerous city in America. Despite this, as shown on the map above, there are four communities nearby that have some of the lowest crime rates in America.

In other words, America’s metro areas contain much contrast, and these insights provide valuable information for individuals and families seeking secure places to live across the country.

Fulshear is not a city.
It’s is an intersection of two farm to market roads with high-end subdivisions surrounding it.
That’s it.

It does remind me of stepping in a fire ant mound. But you know this is the vision of Rick Perry’s monied Texas. I don’t know where he lives now. If it’s still where he shot that coyote around Lake Travis, total hell there now I cannot imagine why not.

Some police depts have fun with numbers. If nobody gets arrested, it’s a safe city. Right?

The author is a moron to suggest that ANY city is “safe”.

Get The Fuck OUT of cities. Hard stop. Stay AWAY from crowds. There’s only one question you have to ask yourself:

Are the reasons I’m staying truly worth my LIFE?

The article above says that small towns like Bessemer, AL, can be dangerous. Here’s Bessemer’s 2020 census stat shot from Wikipedia:

2020 census
Bessemer racial composition[15]
Race Number Percent
White (non-Hispanic) 4,877 18.74%
Black or African American (non-Hispanic) 18,107 69.59%
Native American 48 0.18%
Asian 68 0.26%
Pacific Islander 5 0.02%
Other/Mixed 609 2.34%
Hispanic or Latino 2,305 8.86%

‘Nuff said, right?

On the other hand, Kennesaw, GA is 1/4 black, but they have their infamous gun law, wherein every domicile is required to bear arms:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennesaw,_Georgia#Gun_law

Here are Kennesaw’s crime stats:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennesaw,_Georgia#Crime_statistics
Crime statistics
In 2001, violent crime rates were about 60% below national and state rates. Property crime rates were from 46–56% below national and state rates. From 1999 to 2011, Kennesaw crime statistics reported that both property and violent crimes had decreased, though from 2003 to 2008 the trend in both violent and property crime rates slightly increased.[22] The increase in crime rate overall is attributed to the population growth rate of 37.41%. The population growth rate is much higher than the state average rate of 18.34% and is much higher than the national average rate of 9.71%.[23]

‘Nuff said, again . . .

DFW, I would advise at least 200 miles north, south , east or west. Equate to the hours but that “depends”. I would laugh at poor souls 2000 plus that would say, “we want a secluded home within 50 miles.” I use to wonder about people like that. As far as DFW, yes, 40 years ago, 50 miles. Funny.

From the front lines, Rochester Hills is very affluent. White Lake and Commerce TWP are far removed from the ghetto.
White flight is a valid explanation.
It’s simple, really.
Distance from potential powder kegs offers a reliable, peaceful moat of safety.
One needs only to see the common denominator, whenever the audience witnesses posts on these pages titled:
” Meanwhile, in ______ ”

When violent destruction, fights, and gunfire erupt because a disrespect mentality is used to justify the outbursts, it’s no wonder families, if able, choose to move to safer locales.

There’s a stunning pattern that is part and parcel with one or two demographics, consistently, and easily recognized as to be avoided.

Facts matter.
Political correctness is seen for the absurdity it projects with virtue signaling.

Some animals care little, about the sanctity of life, the safety of children, and having discipline to keep an area neat, clean and welcoming.

Situational awareness and power of keen observation are what drives caretaking trends.

Those who do care about such important values typically fall along racial lines, get disgusted with their proximity to it, and head for the hills. Or the sticks. Out to the boondocks, to pull up an old cliché.

Could go on, but, anyone with sufficient gray matter between their ears gets the drift.

A small city near me and where we do most of our shopping had a mass shooting a few years ago when a fired employee came back to the Kroger where he worked and started shooting people. The shooter was an oriental immigrant who ate a bullet when the cops showed up.

Just this week, a patient went into a clinic and shot the doctor who had operated on his hand because he would not give him any more pain meds. The shooter was not unknown by the police who had been called to another clinic twice in the past month to remove him from the premises. The shooter is a deranged black guy who was caught running away from the clinic.

Small cities? I live right next to Edwardsville and I consider it more of a rural small-town suburb than a city. As to why we are close to St. Louis yet low crime. This is predominately a rural area. Lots of pick-up trucks, hunters and people with CC licenses. There is also the Mississippi river to cross and only a few bridges to do so. All that being said Collinsville and Fairview Heights are close by Edwardsville and crime there is a lot higher. I am sure we can guess why, more of a certain demographic in those towns.

Milton and John’s Creek are far-north Atlanta suburbs, maybe 30-35 miles north of the city. They’re still in Fulton County, though, so they’re still subsidizing the ferals with their property taxes.

And 30-35 miles won’t be far enough when the lights go out. Ferals will pour out of Wakanda like a tidal wave, raping and pillaging everything in their path.

What a mystery. It couldn’t have anything to do with who takes their families out of the big cities and who stays.
