I would argue that socialism becomes popular/possible when banks and corporations rape a country by financializing too much of the economy and pays those who do the dirty work of society like second class citizens.
Real socialism would have gone a step further and murdered all the opposition, just as a message to the others.

I am old enough I doubt I will be here for the final “Build Back Better catastrophe- you, that are woke, deserve every bit of the disaster ahead – but you will blame God when it is all your fault!
