It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. Imagine writing a panegyric to the Confederacy today. You would have your career destroyed. Based.
You might like listening to Sam Watkins autobiography:
Arch- You could write all the songs you want about the CW nowdays, you just have to make it all black with all black officers and all the white folks stayed home and ate barbeque. If they want history rewritten then let’s get crackin’.
Robbie’s best song.
no offense, but im prettysure ending a statement with “based” is tantamount to liking your own comment..
and as with liking our comments, it is best left to others to declare something we said as based or cringe.
i wouldnt go so far as to say doing so automatically renders something as cringe, but some might and others do.
unfortunately, i learned this the hard way.
im just looking out for a fellow non anon, we need to constantly strive to function at optimal levels while we navigate these comment trenches.
its rough out here.

prettysure?
Wait, no it’s not another anon.
I was not referring to my own statement. I was referring to his writing a song about the Confederacy. The problem is that my comment was poorly written.
Ahhhh great music.
Yes. RIP Robbie. Your music I grew up with. Your music is timeless. Thank You Sir for being a part of my, and I’m certain millions of others, life. 🙏✝️
Thanks for the melodies…RIP
Somewhere Down The Crazy River
Will be missed.
I was at Winterland for The Last Waltz. Great show. Carrying Mr. Clapton out to the microphone got laughs. Recording the audience (us) was brutal. Those lights are powerful. Not bad for a former ice rink.
Carny, that movie he was in, was always considered a cult classic for late night showings at the little local theaters back in the good old days. Sneak in beer and come stumbling out about one in the morning.
He was a real artist.
Levon Helm did not have much love for Robertson. I saw a doc years ago where he outright said Robertson took their money.
We did not know that. Good tunes.
Levon Helm lived for years and died in poverty.
He was the old man Mr. Rate in “Shooter”.
Also played Loretta Lynns dad in Coal Miners Daughter.
“The Band” full concert 1983!!!
Born 1943. Memories, The Band was awesome.
Boomers around, just passing through. Think about that. God Bless. 🙂
original or cover, the band did justice to all songs —
