I’ve always preferred 12 gauge #00 buckshot to turn them into imitation raspberry jam. That’s not a cool thing though, the best thing for close suburban life is birdshot, let the puke start to break in them give them a few blasts of #8 birdshot to the face. It will blind them and really hurt but unlike #00 buckshot it won’t go through the neighbors windows or walls. It would be best if you had a tube extender to hold 10 rounds, the first 3 are birdshot, the next 3 are 00 buckshot, the last 4 are a combo of those.
My preference is to alternate buckshot with slugs. If you’re gonna do it, make sure it’s permanent. You don’t want to get sued later.

I was taught to never point a firearm at anybody unless you intend to off them. Well, if I’m going to off them, why on earth would I use birdshot? Buckshot and slugs, pretty much guaranteed. I can replace windows and fix walls. Not to mention that none of my neighbors are close enough for me to take their shit out anyways. If the perp is toast, my word in court stands alone.
You are right, I have killed a deer and a fox at about 75-100 ft with 7.5 birdshot with my 500 Mossberg (I was squirrel hunting).

I am right handed for many things, but left eye dominant.
I write. eat, and paint with my right hand.
But I shoot left handed with all weapons, and I shoot pool left handed. I also play lacrosse well with my left hand and always turned my skis stronger to the left.
I do many thing well left, my politics never,
I’m also weird handed like you CA, I am a lefty with firearms, bow and arrow, dominant left eye. I eat left handed, write right handed, use tools equally well in either hand, bat right handed. Politically speaking I advocate various means of cruel execution.
I am right handed in most sports. In baseball I can switch hit, but I throw and catch right handed.. Hockey and lacrosse I am left handed , but right handed in golf… I fucked my right hand up playing ball in college. I was in a cast for close to 6 months so I became ambidextrous and it still serves me today. Eating left-handed just sometimes happens. I had to learn to write left-handed to pass my classes. I couldn’t paint a fucking wall right handed so I cant imagine painting a landscape left handed…

Right handed. And that is a YUUUGE advantage for a left eye dominant golfer because your dominant eye always sees the ball throughout the swing.
And for many years I was a solid 6 handicap. (never sandbagged)
But as I got older, lost my flexibility and fast twitch
muscle mass so lost a bunch of my prodigious distance and now am a solid 12.
I am still a deadly short game player, however.
One year I made over $6000 playing golf by “gambling”
(I never gambled. I just was better and unshakeable when it mattered.) Most years when I was good
it was around $3500.
A good artist friend of mine named Kang Cho, who was a VERY good golfer and I (2 handicap) went to Las Vegas to play all comers for a few days and came home with a lot of money.
I only did that once.
I played from about 20 yrs. old to 65. I still hit balls today just to limber up. I was a 2 and putting and chipping were my specialties. I plumb bobbed my putting but was never a long hitter. Although I played for almost 50 years, I never had a hole in one. My son had one and my brother, 6. I really miss it but being 78, tomorrow, I could still play but golf just isn’t fun without birdies. Golf always kept me in money.
I was playing golf with two friends and my Dad on 12-24-96.. On a par three 192 yards, I drilled it.. greatest feeling ever.. so glad my pappy was there to see it……The people on the next tee box went crazy…
